Sticky clutch??
Does a hot engine idle at a higher rpm than the set value. Wat i have noticed is when i stop at traffic signals and shift to neutral the rpm suddenly goes close to 3k.when i engage the first gear it comes down to 1.2k i.e the set value i cant figure out what the problem is.am havin false neutrals and improper gear shifts at 60-80 speeds.and after a recent false neutral the engine feels rougher than before i thought it was due to the low fuel level, but even after i filled in,the bike s engine is rougher than normal.bloody scared.i own a apache rtr 160, 3k and 3months old.any help?...sUdHiRTags: None

1) yes some engines have a tendency to idle at higher rpm's when hot, but hot means damn hot... like continuous highway riding in summer for 2-3 hours.Originally posted by skyblues075 View PostDoes a hot engine idle at a higher rpm than the set value. 2) false neutrals and improper gear shifts means u need to get the adjustment done specially of clutch.
3) when was the last oil change done, and wht is ur normal riding style?
4) get oil level checked immediately, this is a very remote possibility, but god forbid if this is the case. u r in for a trouble.
5) last but not the least, have u been practicing clutchless shifting ? is the bike thouroghly run-in, since its a new bike.

the bike was run in properly till 750 kms.I ride in50-80 range not too aggressive.no i haven been doing clutchless shifting.your reply in case of oil levels sounds serious.may i know the immediate consequences.even i suspected low oil levels for the roughness of engine.i got the bike serviced at 2500 kms.wont the oil last 700 kms?...sUdHiR

750 kms only ....dude check the bike's manual.........i m sure it says sumthing around 2000 kms....plzzz check ur oil level immidiately to prevent further damage ....is there a drop in pick-up / accelaration...? or mileage..??..in my pulsar there is a glass window from where i can see the oil level...i m sure there must be sumthing like that in ur bike too....1st check urself then go to a service center...tommorrow only....
