Avenger new speedo problem

    Avenger new speedo problem

    My avenger's speedo got broken a few months ago. After trying out all 'jugads' i decided to buy a new one coz the jugads didnt seem to work anymore. Now the problem is that my old speedo showed a top end of 115-120 when the throttle was fully open. The new one doesn't show a reading beyond 95 even if the throttle is fully open!

    Does it have anything to do with the fact that its new and may become ok after some days or did i just blow up 800 bucks for this good for nothing speedo?!

      First thing...did u change everthing along with the speedo? ie cable, worm wheel and the speedo unit? If not it seems that either the worm or the cable are worn out. I have a doubt on the worm assy. Have that checked. And did u buy the speedo new or is it the one from from the chor bazar or similar second hand makets....asking coz i had a similar problem wen i picked up a meter for my KB 100, had to be returned and replaced.

        i didnt actually feel the need to coz it was working fine with the previous speedometer so i thought only the meter should be changed.

        And i bought a new speedo assembly from one of the bajaj service centres. had to search the whole of delhi to find one. The guys at dewan bajaj are really honest guys. I bought it for 800 from them whereas the price is 1000 in karol bagh!
