    Changing Speedometer Backlight

    Hi Members,

    I'm kinda fed up with that same old blunt look of Meters on Pulsar 150 DTS-i. I was wondering, would it be possible to change the backlight bulks with White LEDs which are bright and can make the numbers and meter more clear.

    I wanted to have that Honda City's white display but that won't be possible as the background color is dark, however, the brighter the background that better it would be for me.

    Please suggest, if someone has made modifications like that do send some pics, I wanna check how would it look with LDEs or some other bulb.

        ^^ Yeah, if you can follow a circuit diagram and can construct a circuit, its very easy! Soldering skills help too.
        Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

          abhi read the complete thread today morn! Now I removed the speedo setup of my disco. am planning to glue some white LED's.

            Thnx for the info.. Looks like Abhijeet is the man in here.

            Do suggest, what did you use to glue LEDs on the backside of the console? I once saw people using dendride and feviquick to glue LEDs but sometimes they burst or fail.

            Also why not use 8mm LEDs in the console and make it more bright, I guess it won't be distracting or make driving difficult.

              I used feviquick only! Hassle free! Burst and such things happen when the resistor value is improperly calculated - not due to the type of gum used!!!

              LEDs with higher size (8mm) will give a wide focus light, while a lower size (3mm) LED will give a sharp focus light which is ideal to be placed under the numbers. Wide focus means that not all light can pass through the digit decal!
