  • help me please...!!!

    this is my very first thread in this comm.
    i own a p150 dtsi bought it in 2005
    and now after having changed its clutch plates and chain sets its rpm doesnt go above 8...
    and bike is atmost at 102kmph
    i am a bit afraid abt what to do though my bike is old enough but i cant sell it untill i had o long ride on it..
    please help what to do and to whom i should have a check up in panipat.

      ok buddy have you ever tried to change your engine oil
      i mean have you ever top up your bike with synthetic oil....if not try to do so...and see my posts on castrol power 1 racing....with some good list of synthetic oils in india...
      Second how many km/miles have you done on your machine......

        Possible its not fitted properly(clutch and timing chain).
        Is the bike revving freely upto 10000rpm when revved heard in neutral.?

          no it doesnt go upto that.

          no sir it doesnt go upto that limit.
          neither in neutral nor in gears.
          so what should i do now.
          plz help

            oil..

            and this is for zayn...
            yaar i hvnt tried that oil.
            please tell which synthetic oil should i go for..and how much will it cost.
            as my service man also uses castrol active oil....
            and my bike has done around 21000kms.
            when i ride...I RIDE...!!!

              possible causes
              1.clutch and timing chain assambly not fitted properly-
              2.there is some electrical issues in the bike.

              but i think from your post ur bike was very very fine before you changed the clutch ,so 2nd option is irrelevant.

              ALL 150 DTSI UG 2 (YOUR MODEL) IS CAPABLE OF FREE REVVING UPTO 10000 RPM AND A SPEEDO INDICATED TOP SPEED OF 115-125 DEPENDING UPON BIKES CONDITION.

              THIS IS WHAT U DO.
              TAKE THE BIKE TO A AUTHORIZED WORKSHOP OF BAJAJ.TELL THEM YOUR PROBLEM.TELL THEM TO REOPEN OR DISASSEMBLE THE CLUTCH+TIMING CHAIN ASSEMBLY+TIMING CHAIN TENSIONAR.

              THEN OVERHAUL THESE PARTS.

              MAKE SURE IF U DIDNT CHANGED BEFORE CHANGE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS
              1.GUIDES FOR TIMING CHAIN.
              2.TIMING CHAIN.
              3.TIMING CHAIN TENSIONAR.
              4.ENGINE OIL(20W40 WILL DO,LETS SAY CASTROL ACTIV 4TOR HIGHER).

              I THINK THE PERSON WHO FITTED THE PARTS IS NOT QUALIFIED ENOUGH TO DO SUCH IMPORTANT ENGINE JOB IN PULSARS.

                Also check that you changed all the clutch plates.i am not very sure i remember there are 4 or 5 plates of clutch in the bike. Idiot mechaniq s will tell u only one or two is gone rest are ok,it wrong,theory is all or none. Its better to change the pressure plate also because they work as a team

                  ok i think going to bajaj service dealers is better option.
                  and i asked them to change these plates pressure plates bt they said no they are fine no need to change them n i also dint assisted...much.
                  ya my bike was a bit better before having these changes....
                  i will try the bajaj person hopefully n this saturday.

                    dude i have p150 dtsi 06 recently top up its engine with castrol power 1 racing my pulsar was taking literary 15-18sec to do 80kmph then i tried this syntactic oil which raised the pick up,avg and now it revs less as compare to earlier..don't listen to does who says the clutch slippages occur with syntactic oils simply go for it...

                    casrol power 1 racing = 650RS
                    motul 300v = 660RS
                    shell advance ultra 4= 610RS
                    Petronas Sprinta 4T 5000 = 450RS

                    but it would be difficult to find shell and petronas...my opinean is go for castrol power 1 racing easily available and tested....
                    your bike has done only 21000kms that is not much kms

                    what does this mean rpm doesnt go above 8...
                    and bike is atmost at 102kmph

                    have you ever tried to rev your bike throttle at neutral does it go above 8000rpm
                    the following reasons must be..da problem...

                    1>your speedo wire need replacement for speed not above 102kmph
                    2>your chain is tight....
                    3>your carburettor need to be cleaned from authorized workshop because if the placement of carburettor is wrong your RPM needle will not go high....
                    4>if you have used genuine clutch plates from authorized workshop then clutch plates will not be an issue then 1 of the above 3 will be your problem....

                    Recently done some performance mod's on my pulsar 150 dtsi
                    1>k&n uni-r1060 air filter
                    2>two iridium spark plugs
                    3>splitfire high performance silicon cable for spark plug
                    4>casrtol power 1 racing oil (FULLY SYNT)
                    NOW THE BIKE IS ROCKET 80KMPH IN AN EYE BLINK...........TOP'S 120KMPH

                        ok man i will definitely try this oil next tym.
                        as oil is changed js 3 weeks back.
                        do tell me that after how much kmz or days should the oil needs b changed ( synthetic)
                        and my bike's rpm is not going up 8000 when n neutral and it goes at max 102kmph...
                        infact after very hard attempts it comes to 100...
                        plates etc were genuine bt werent from bajaj centre so will go to them on sat.
                        n the spark plugs arent changed till now.
                        should they b replaced.
                        and......the cone set also needs to b replaced as m facing diff. in handle also.
                        what else u thing i should ask 4 changing.
                        i had a lot f things to change...my dad's gonna kill me this tym.
                        he is forcing me to have a new bike bt how can i sell it without a long riding experience.
                        and if u also want to tour etc plz m also in the queue.
                        dnt fgt to inform me. plz

                          3>SPARK PLUGS CAN ALSO BE ONE ISSUE BECAUSE AT HIGH SPEED THEY DOES'NT BURN FUEL PROPERLY GO TO A LOCAL SHOP AND ASK HIM TO SHOW YOUR SPARK PLUGS I AM DAM SURE THEY WILL BE BLACK FROM TOP AS IF THEY WHERE BUNT IN A FIRE....
                          IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THEM THEN GO FOR DENSO=500Rs OR NGK IX=550Rs EACH BOTH ARE IRIDIUM PULSAR COMES WITH A CHAMPION ELECTRODE SPARK PLUGS DON'T BUY NGK G-POWER BECAUSE THEY SHORTS AT HIGH SPEED...

                          4>NOW MY OPINION GO TO AUTHORIZED WORKSHOP
                          a>ASK THEM TO CHECK YOUR CLUTCH PLATES
                          b>ASK THEM TO CLEAN YOUR CARB... BECAUSE CARB ALSO PLAY IMPORTANT ROLE IN PICK UP WITH PROPER SETTING
                          C>SHOW YOUR CHAIN & YOUR SPROCKET TO THEM

                          BRO I THINK THE ABOVE WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.....AFTER THIS TELL ME OR GIVE ME A PRIVET MESG...CHEERS.

                            FROM RESEARCH IT HAS BEEN PROVED THAT MINERAL OILS ARE WORST FOR THE ENGINE AND SAMI SYNTHETIC OIL ONLY GIVE PROTECTION FOR 10-15 MIN ONLY.....

                              js gone...!!!!

                              my bike isnt vry good goin these days n i had my fingers crossed for this thing only i went there to the service centre n showed my bike to them n what happened was the worst that can...
                              they said that u had to change ur piston rings...
                              and that they will clean the carb n all the timing chain etc the will check bt still i hv to drive my bike slow for atleast 2000kms....
                              if not evrythng will b of no use.
                              if i dnt want that then i had to change the whole cylinder set up..
                              and also many more things..
                              the silencer rear tyres etc.
                              and m js shockked to listen to all this.
                              i think its of no use keping the bike if i had to do all these changes.
                              instead i shud think f buying a new 220...????
