RTR petal disc+ R15 front tyre in apache 150 ?

    RTR petal disc+ R15 front tyre in apache 150 ?

    Hi all. I ride a tvs apache 150. The front disc has a big bump in the surface.I think its time to change the disc now. Can i fit the rtr's petal disc in the front without changing the forks ? is an extension to the caliper needed?. i dont want to negotiate with braking. If not possible then i will go with the stock disc.

    Secondly my front tyres need a replacement. is it possible to fit an r15 tyre. My bike is running on dunlop geocruisers at the back. Will a soft compound front tyre hamper the handling or should i go for zappers?

      Yes, you will need an extension bracket as the RTR disc is 270mm vs the 240mm on Apache150. Front tyre of R15 is 17" so it will fit , you can use a soft compound on the rear but have limited choice , soft compound tyres in 18" are Michelin M45 and Pirelli .

        @ricci - if i use an extension bracket, wont it hamper the braking? as in normally the caliper is attached directly to the forks but in this case, the extension would have to bear extra stress. isnt is dangerous. i mean what if it goes off. this is only thing with which i am a little scared.

        anyways i have almost brand new dunlop geocruisers at the rear, so i wont change them. i just want to know what if we use a soft compound tyre at the front and hard compound at the rear, will it hamper the handling?

          ^^^ make sure extension brackets are not made from cardboard :|

          moreover gurus uses AL sprockets; what's ur take on that ?

            A150 and RTR run on extension brackets only. Moreover i beleive you would have to change the outer tube(of the forks) to put in a 270mm petal disc. Mounting points and brackets are very diff in RTR and A150. do check this out at the SVC

              k will do it. i am getting a feeling that i have to stick with the normal 240mm disc

              and any info on the tyres guys?
