    Rearsets.....FINALLY

    Hello people!
    I finally got rearsets installed on my year old P180UG3.Riding a P180 never felt any better. I have attached some pics. I have a problem regarding them... When the step holder was installed, the silencer mounting point shifted backwards. SO the mech installed a metal strip to hold the silencer.The main stand is supported by a rubber stopper which is mounted on the silencer. When the whole thing was installed, the silencer moved a bit lower. This makes the stand scrap the ground when going over a speed breaker with a pillion.
    Has anyone among those who have installed pulsar rearsets on older ones faced such a problem?

        I'm also thinkin of installing similar rearsets on my unicorn... maybe from the hunk or the CBZx... Anyone got a idea if it would be a direct fit or not??

          yeah.. me..

          sorry i never got you the snaps on time.

          well i did have the same problem. what i did was to take the bike to a gas welder and cut out the metal part with the rubber bush from the silencer (the stopper for the main stand )and moved it a bit more upwards and welded it.

          I moved it more than the stock position so that it also dosent scrape when i move over humps with pillions and corners.

            The LH and RH step holders[the frames on which the footrests mount] cost a total of Rs.1290/- part numbers DK161137 AND JC161002

            The brake pedal and gear pedal cost Rs.680/-
            The brake pedal mounting bolt and spring part numbers JC191009 and JC191010 Cost Rs. 38 and Rs.8 respectively.
            The Gear pedal bolt part number DK101186. Rs 20/-
            The gear pedal also requires a metal bush which my mechanic got custom made as it was not available at the spares store.

            Only jugaad done so far was a metal strip used to hold the exhaust. seen in the 4th pic,

            ya u didn't send me the pics. I searched your facebook album but couldn't find one pic of ur bike in which it was visible.And regarding the stand scraping, Is welding and cutting the only solution? I dont want my exhaust to get damaged man... I don't have 4.5k bucks for a new one.

              yeah..there are no shots of the bike .atleast not any close ups.

              see man. the cutting of the bush is pretty much a simple job .and it took like 15 mins to cut and replace it and Rs 50 for it. No damage at all to the silencer.

                Alright and I forgot to point out one more issue:
                The kick starter. it hits the front footrest holder.And even if somehow it is bent so that it wont hit the holder, it doesnot have any stopper. It will go all the way round. The stopper for the kick starter was originaly mounted on the footrest itself in the old configuration. But since the whole footrest has been removed, the kick starter has no stopper. What to do?

                  Nice work there! Those rearsets look awesome. The difference in comfort levels is very evident between the stock and the (further) rearset posture; and I can say so from what I feel when switch between my P200 and P180.

                  Hey, BTW, I'd suggest replacing the handlebar (if you haven't done so already,) with a shorter and lower set one like say the P200's or (better still,) the P200's if you've got the budget (Rs. 1200/- approx). That will give a further feel of the posture change AND (more importantly) take some pressure off your lower back due to the difference in riding postures.

                    i have done the same on my pulsar,only problem i am facing was kick lever.
                    heres what i did,

                    moded the holder so footrest could be folded like cbz

                    ,welded extension to kick lever..

                      really neat work there man....i was looking out for someone who had done this job on a ug3...btw...i wanted to know if u changed the swingarm?? converted it to p200?? if so...could you tell me is there any others juggards on doing this???(the swingarm i mean)....

                        No need to change the swing arm.. The swing arm is untouched.
                        Is the p200 handlebar really different than the 180? coz both of them look the same

                          appreciate the effort dude.. but cant really under stand what exactly you have done . could you post a few more snaps..only this time take it from a lil further back..

                            there is not much difference.. its about a inch lower. i was using it and the difference in position is not much.

                              But ever since I've installed the rearsets, i've been experiencing pain in my lower back.I ignored it until someone here pointed that out and related it to the rearsets..Even though my legs are very comfortable, now my back isn't.
                              Avin did u experience them to helping the lower back?
