  • Strange problem in my Pulsar

I am having Pulsar 150 dtsi (2004) which has done 58000km and underwent engine overhaul at 49000km.
From last six months I am facing a strange problem. Whenever I run my bike after parking it in sun for more than an hour, It would start to shudder after going around 100 meters and the engine would go off.
Then I have to open my petrol tank lid and wait for a minute or two. Then the bike would start and run fine and smooth.
My mechanic is not able to point out the problem and the bike is not giving any problem otherwise. I am fed up of this problem in the summer of delhi so please help me.

This is the most common problem faced by every UG-1,2,3 owner even i faced it it is due to the fuel fumes created in the tank you said that you park your bike in the sun for more than an hour that's the reason behind it...
Solution is to open the tank lid
second from now on words park your bike in shades
& third if no availability of shades cover the tank with jute covering...

This happens with every bike. Not only pulsars. Park it in scorching sun, tank heats up, fumes block the proper flow of fuel through the carb. The problem is nothing to do with the engine overhaul.

Thanks Pranay and Zayn for your quick reply. So I have to look for shaded area to park my bike or cover the fuel tank. I was worried that it was an engine problem.

A lot of R15 owners also faced this problem, including vapor lock. I guess parking in the shade is the best option!

I had seen the same problem even in Pulsars which is having a tank cover.

So put some water on the cover before going somewhere in sun...
