How come there is only one projector in the assembly?
As p220 HL uses 2 projectors..
What bout fog lamps, are they of any use?

The low beam of the pulsar 220 is a projector and the high beam is the normal reflector but in a small radius.
The projectors are basically used to have a uniform spread of the beam. since the high beam is used mainly to focus light at a distance, reflectors are being used for the same.
You can install a foglamp, but then it does not serve the purpose of a projector.. not sure of the size again.Last edited by anilupadhya; 09-19-2009, 10:28 PM.

Basically the fog lamps are not projectors!Originally posted by anilupadhya View Post

They are small spherical or parabolic reflectors focused in such a way that the light is well spread (insted of projected) and illuminates some 50m of area around the bonnet.
It does not illuminates the whole area though.,it just lights up the road and lower surrounding thus enabling a better view of the pitch and pots!
Finally, got my first projector..thanks to the drunk octavia guy who stepped down his car from road by some 100mtrs just to hit the only tree in that area!!
And curses to him coz he hit the tree by his left bumper portion so one hL destroyed!

Nice to see someone so enthusiastic too! :P
Sorry dude, for the late reply..but I got just one PM and that too only about 7 days back. My PM box was 100% full, maybe that's why your messages didn't reach me.
Just a few suggestions from my side:
1)The Pulsar 220 projectors might be too huge to fit in the current R15's HL assy.(Most probably cos they use H7 bulbs)
2)Using the projectors for high beam may not be good...I'm still experimenting for that. Someone suggested me to orient the projectors vertically for high beams(that is, rotating the projector by 90degrees so that the beam spread will be narrow)
3)I wouldn't recommend cheap aftermarket projectors, especially chinese ones. Cos I've seen many cars here with aftermarket projectors, and they're totally useless for illumination.Sunny.

Ah! U saved me frm committing suicide due to chinease projectors. :-P
So tell me brother..
1. If I shuldnt use HIGH BEAM PROJECTORS then frm whr can I source the same lukin small and spherical parabolic Reflectors(p220 type)??
2. Angel eyes can be fitted on such reflectors?
3. Which size bulbs should I opt. For as to get a good fitment for 2 projectors and 2 spherical reflector?

Actually, 220s Lower Beam is Projector and the High Beam is not the normal reflector, but a ellipsoidal.
Projectors help confining light to specific spread and High beam helps is focusing light to a greater distance without loss/spread.
The best possible light would be a combination of both.
Been There, Done That; Better!

Have you ever seen the small round long beam headlamps that the auto-rickshaw guys add to their autos as accessory? It's small enough for our purpose I think, plus those are powerful too! Think about them for the high beam, they're cheap too.Sunny.

To be honest..the headache is only about the Low beam "PROJECTORS"..
Coz any good quality "Reflector Fog lamp" will serve our cause of Blinding high beam!!
Though remember.,strictly considering good quality!
U see I had checked some local shops and "original and good quality fog lamps" can be found at a fair deal of 1200-1500 bucks!
Though just checked only 2-3 shops so further detailed investigation would bring out better and cheaper results..
And I roughly calculated..they are H3 Type and fit exact!!
Happy! Happy! Happy!
