  • Need Help: Problems wid Glamour 125cc

    Hi Guys,

I am facing some problems wid my bike

    HH Glamour 125CC(dec 07)
Bought in June 2009(2nd Hand) so dont know much history
    Daily Run 40kms
    This is my First Bike.

    1.
    2. After Buying I used HH Engine Oil for 1st two service, Then I used Castrol Power 1, which made my gear shift very Hard (1st to 2nd). So I again switched to Castrol Active. Recently My engine have started giving loud sound looks like its under very stress and is vibrating (Don't laugh). I dont know what to do. It is because of oil changes
    3.
Please help me wid 1st and 2nd problem specially 1st
No Matter Whether Guys buy 220cc Pulsars or 350cc Royal Enfields,
It is used only to follow a 80cc Scooty Pep...

i have over 3 years of experience with glamour and its one fine bike. tock solid built, superb handling.

but i think u need to be more specific/clear about ur problem
is it handle vibrations or wobbling

if its wobbling than it can due to bent front alloy rim or due to front forks

i thing i can reckon is ur bike seems to be accident/ damaged one

CASTROL power 1 doesnt suit Glamour . best is HH 10W30 oil.

the bike touches 100 kmph so there must be a problem
start from 1. air filter (replace it yaar ... 150 ka hai)
        2. spark plug
        3. carb setting.
        4. chain setting ( too loose too tight , worn sprocket etc.)

glamour engine is one of the most refined one in india and wont seemed to be stressed at 100 .
so plz clarify what kind of sounds its moking

vibrations means the bike have had an accident and some parts are now loose cos the glamour is almost O vibrations bike.
put the bike on main stand and throttle it hard and see/touch that which part/side has most vibrations

lastly dude if u are not happy with service centre than try locan mechanics
u will find members from ur city that can tell u about good mechanics

Problem 1> You said that when you apply brake your bike vibrates 1>you disk plate it tilted or 2>you alloy has a crack....
nobody can justify until and unless some take a test ride....

Problem 2> simply go with an 10W30 oils these oils are for 125cc engine like 20w40 is for 150cc engines...if you will put heavy oil you will face clutch slippage and jammed gears...

Problem 3> Get your bike tappet set, check your clutch plates if they are not fine change it and note change the complete set pressure plate & clutch plate both..check your chain set if not in good condition change it...

              1. The First problem is a bit strange, but it is becoming a big issue for me. Even at lower speeds say 40-50 when I apply my disk break by handles vibrates a bit and bike shakes a bit, it’s certainly more than normal as I have fell from bike 2 times due to this very reason. When I told this to HH Mechanic, he said that is natural and always happens wid alloy wheels , I dont know what to say to him and how to rectify it, but its really lowering my confidence on bike
This is absolute gibberish. Its a standard tactic mechanics use to explain away a problem rather than rectifying it. Escalate the issue. Check if the rim is out of alignment, check the fork. It could also be a tyre defect (least likely).

As for the oil, I have no idea why you had to try Castrol. Use HH Idemitsu or Veedol only. Try and avoid BPCL. Better still, try Elf, Gulf (10W30 only).

Even though after buying bike I have not missed even a single service but am not at all happy wid its performance.
Now that explains why you aren't happy. SEems they raped your bike like most service centers do.

I am really thankful to you guys for your replies

I am taking my Bike to Service center tomorrow

When I start my Bike in the morning the engine sounds normal
but after crossing DND flyway (7-8 KMs @ 65-70)
I start hearing lot of vibrations sounds from engine

Now for Oil all of you guys are suggesting 10W30 oil but as far as I remember 20W40 is recommended for it

                @insignificant_idiot
Thats a really new news for me yaar
My bike hardly touches 80 when I am alone and with a pilion even 70 is a dream
No Matter Whether Guys buy 220cc Pulsars or 350cc Royal Enfields,
It is used only to follow a 80cc Scooty Pep...

than here is more new news
bikes gear ratios are awkward to say the least .

                  1st gear not much speed
2nd - really tall for 125cc bike. 60 kmph in second was easy. try this

my bike touched 95 on speedo with me (63 kg) and my friend (80 Kg)

Edit : reaching top speed is riding style . if are a beginner it may take some time to learn how to take fast pick up and how to reach top speed.

If you think you can get away with it KILL the mechanic.

Why not take it to the nearest castrol bike zone and get the thing fixed.

I have used ELF 10W 30 its a good oil you can try it.

If I could get away with it, I'd kill so many mechanics, I'd rival Pol Pot's genocide.

If the bike is in warranty, better get the stuff sorted at the ASC. They have to do it for free. If something needs to be replaced, you will have to go thru the ASC anyway.
