Hey guys. I am planning for a trip to Assam, which is my hometown on my CBZ KING, which I will be gifting it to my younger brother. Please let me know on how to prepare for the trip. I am planning to leave alone by 8th of October. Would be great if somebody is also planning for the trip. Stay will be in my home.

Some tips from my side..!!! So how many KM's?

First thing u need to do is inspect your vehicle properly. Take it to your mechanic tell him to tune the engine for a long trip. Check breaks, tires, tighten the chain if required, check Battery condition, clean the spark plug. Do these initial check up at least one day in advance in case of any problem you will get time to rectify it.
MAKE SURE YOUR HEAD LIGHT IS CORRECTLY FOCUSSED both dim and bright. I'm not a big fan of night riding .. As your are going to your home town route won't be a problem, else you will have to prepare a proper route map.

      While riding:
->> Don't accelerate the bike quickly, do it gradually... else engine will get over heated and vehicle stops. If this happens park it aside and wait for 15 min then continue the journey.

->> Take regular breaks In two hrs or every 100 kms..ITS MUST TO TAKE A BREAK IF YOU FEEL SLEEPY / CHECK FOR SIGNS OF FATIGUE... Have a cup of tea/ coffee. This will help you to get refreshed.

->> Its good if you don't switch off your vehicle during this breaks directly, keep it in neutral leave him for 2-3 min let him settle down and then switch it off.

->> Keep in mind No proper concentration while riding, Sleep or Day Dreaming etc... Miss Judgment of timing, Acceleration or others move's Influence of Drugs (Medication or Mostly Otherwise) can cost you a lot. Be alert while riding.

->> Clean your helmet visor during this breaks. Keep some news paper or cloth for cleaning. If you have a sprayer fill it with water and take it with you. This can assist you very much in cleaning your visor. If it is raining you will be doing it frequently

->> Don't wear loose clothes. Don't take too much luggage.

->> Always give proper indication to the fellow commuters, before changing lane, overtaking.... Be disciplined.... . Don't take your EGO on highways...

->> I suggest to go with a company rather than a Solo ride...

->> Keep all the valid documents and toolkit when going for a drive.

MAKE SURE YOU WEAR PROPER RIDING GEARS.. HELMET IS A MUST THING.

      Respect fellow commuters...

      Happy Riding .. Friend..
Do't forget to post your experience...

        thanks

Thanks a ton dude. It will be 2000kms. I will keep in mind everything that you have mentioned. Though I have never been there by road but I have got the route map from maps of India. Hope that helps me. Got my bike serviced. Need to fit it with new tyres and get spare cables.
Thank a ton for your inputs.

All the best for the trip Shashank. I would suggest you to ride at daytime only. plan your stops carefully and dont exhaust yourself and take required breaks. And bring back some wonderful photographs...

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!
