  • apache 150 front tyre and brake disc problem

hi guys, i ride a tvs apache 150 which is a 2006 model and has run 27.5k kms. Now the time has come for the front tyre replacement. I dont want to go for the OE tvs tyres because they are just total crap. I enquired and now am thinking of putting the yamaha R15's front tyre. Is this modification possible ? as my bike had a tube type tyre, do i need to make any changes in the alloy i.e are the alloys made for tubeless tyres also ? please suggest the best possible solution as i dont want to compromise on grip because i have had pretty scary moments with the stock tyre. Currently i am getting a new R15 tyre for around Rs 1200 ( i m in bhopal ) as compared to Rs 1500 from the yamaha showroom.

please suggest more options if available. i tried finding IRC's but apparently they are not available for the front wheel.

secondly :- the front disc has developed an unusual buldge its protruding out like a speedbreaker. i asked a tvs mechanic and he told me to change the discs.

can i fit the RTR's petal disc as the price difference is just Rs200 between the two and it has better braking too. i know we need to fit an extension for the caliper fitment as the disc dia is larger than the stock one. i dont want to compromise on braking as it more impotant than power and acceleration to me. i am also posting pics so that you guys can see the protruding part in the disc properly

pls help guys..... its urgent as it is very scary to ride with these problems.

    thanks

Is the new RTR's disc bigger than yours ?

If that is the case it's difficult to accommodate the new disc in the brake assembly.
