  • TAK-TAK-TAK-TAK- sound from new pulsar 220

Got my Pulsar 220 -black today

it was running fine till 50Km. then this tak-tak-tak sound started coming from the engine( it sounded like some thing is touching with a rotating grear). initially it was slow and at 40+ speed only then it increased with following caracterstics

    1) only when i left full clutch un touched, 20% cluched pressed and it redused a lot.

    2) the problem is only in 2nd and 2nd+ gears. no problem in first gear, even when zero clutch engaged.

    3) tak-tak-tak frequency was propotional to RPM. That wasnt smooth tak-tak, I could feel vibration of that in the handel bars

    4) problem remained for about 15 min( 5 KM ride) then it dissapeared again.

guys please help ... after this I am very sad. I have to go tommorow some where and I dont whant this to happen again

Thanks Aryan da for the approval

Now I know how this problem might have arrived. while taking delivery i wast able to find neutral, so the mechanic at Bagga Link did something with the cluch assembly, may be that is the reason.

still not able to find neutral, it goes straight from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st gear other than that everything is fine.

Can I go to any local mechanic for the sound problem because I can only go to PBK on monday after my office, and I am afraid that problem may come again while office up-down.

              Tappet noise or clutch plates.

Its always better to have the bike checked at the auth. SVC. As per your description it looks like its coming from the tappets. BTW what did the mech do to help you get the bike in neutral? did he finger around with the clutch and was it at the probiking SVC? if no it Cud be that he has messed up with something. Have it checked ASAP. As for getting the bike in neutral, u just gotta tap the lever very lightly upwards when in first, shud do the trick (takes a little practice)

                    False neutral

Always put the engine off and then change to neutral ....
if u want to put neutral in a signal slightly move ur bike fron 1st gear and try changing to neutral other than that don't adjust the factory settingsss...

I would suggest you to get thorough checking from PBK, it's brand new bike and don't compromise on quality...get the bike checked right in front of your eyes.

Maybe your Pulsar is trying to transform into a Hero-Honda...
