    [Help]: Buying a Comet

    Hi,
    My Friend is selling his comet.He has run about 11000kms on his bike,
    I m interested in buying his comet but he is asking for 1lkh for it.I think its too much for a 2005 bike.
    I Would like to know will i get spares and maintenance in mumbai.!!

    Should i go for it , if then what price should i quote....

        well... the Comet's coming back to India in a few months thru Mahindra... you can wait till then...

        your friend won't be able to ask for 1 lac then...

        Comet owners have been quoting anything between 1.1 to even an outrageous 1.7 lac for secondhand 4 n 5 year old Comets.

        That'll change soon. Just wait for a few months n you'll have a bargain.

          Or when after waiting for 4-5 months you realise that Mahindra is not getting the Comet back to India, you'll go back to that friend and find out that either he has sold the Comet already or taking advantage of the situation he is not quoting 1.2 lakhs !!

          Only advice I'll give you my friend, that pls take advice from pple who have actually got a Comet on xBHP.
          You'll find a lot of arm-chair experts on this forum !!
          Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
          Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

            If your plan is this then fasten your seat belt too spend more on its repair and spare parts... 1Lac... last 65k to 75k and final thats it other wise new bike 1Lac.

              Is this the same bike? asking price is 1.5L.

              Frankly, the exterior condition isn that great.. Id say 75k should be the max you should pay for her.

                  wise decision mate..
                  even if you buy that second hand for 75 k you may end up in spending more than 1 lakh if there is any engine/body work there . more over the parts are difficult to get as well as experienced mechanics to handle comet .
