Are you sure it is the pump that is leaking? About 6 months back I had a leak from right below the pump in my Shogun. But it was not the pump, it was the transmission oil. Got all the seals replaced by the TVS ASC.

That happened with my shogun too.

Then there was another time 2t oil leaked a lot. It was due to a cracked oil tube.

What exactly do you mean by " it stops whenever i close the oil inlet"? Which oil inlet?

Have you opened the cover to check the pump physically for leakage? Are the tubes in good shape?

AFAIK, you have to adjust the throttle cable play to align the marks when throttle is fully open. The big screw you mentioned is probably the bleed screw.

to stop oil flowing from reservoir to the pump i use a metal ball to plug it
yes whenever i open the cover of the oil pump compartment i find oil spill in its base . the tubes are in good shape n i ve replaced the tubes and the seal
i feel the leak is from either
-the inlet nozzle in the pump
-seal connecting pump to the engine case or
              - base of the pump itself

my gut feeling is it is leaking from inlet nozzle coz the tubes usually expand on heat . do you get heat shrinking tubes which contract on heat ??
or can i tighten it using a clamp or a crimp ??

As far as I can recall, my bike has those small wire clamps on the tube's ends. Are yours missing those? Oil may be seeping out of the plastic/rubber tube's ends, esp. if they are old or have been removed and refixed many times... that makes them loose their elasticity. Thats just one possibility...

Make sure you use genuine TVS tubes only.

^^^Cool. Another point - in my case the transmission oil is reddish in colour and the 2t is bluish. So I could tell thru the colour what was leaking. What oils are you using? If their colours are different, you could also observe this...
