See, the general rule is to clean with a wet cloth, and then use another dry cloth to wipe it dry ... this prevents scratches depending on cloth's quality.
But, if you got a Teflon Coating, and you see minor scratches that too in sunlight, I think its normal and comes with time ...
Maybe it takes time getting used to it... ok?

Obviously you are doing something wrong. Even cleaning with a wet cloth is a bit risky. Best is to spray water or at least pour water to remove dirt/dust 1st. Maintaining a wax coat could help to a small extent in maintaining the paint and and will also hide existing scratches that aren't deep. The so called Teflon coating will not prevent anything, despite tall claims. Consider DIY products like Turtle wax, 3m, Amway Glaze, etc.Originally posted by djapsy View PostI bought a pulsar 220 a month back.the color is black...its just one month older nd is getting scratches.even if i clean it with a cloth then also it gets scratches...the scratches are very lighter ...they are not visible normally bt whn u observe closely in the sun..u can spot many many scratches..plz help me wht shud i do..i have already got teflon coating done..Please.

wash, dry, wipe and then polish, and dont forget to do it every month. THat will take care of it.. the remaining scratches are normal. you are/must be looking at a reflection of sunlight or something in the paint, that highlights the most minor of flaws.
Just take care of zippers on jackets, belt buckles, metal watch straps, keychains, fuel fillers ( when they insert and remove, and make sure no fuel is spilt either ). All these will help keep your bike scratch free.
Also a lot of times, bikes get scratched, getting on, and off, or doing something mindless that one does not notice, out of habit.

Black coloured bikes are bond to get get scratches
Its really a toughes job to reduce scratches in Black coloured Bikes
Do the following ans see the outputs
1 - Do not wipe you bike with any cloth (just dust it away using a soften nylon brush - which they used to clean the mirrors of lorries)
2 - Use a quality Carnabura Wax Polish weekly once to give your bike a layer of Coating - this will avoid the scratches that cause due to outside Dust
3 - If u still need a cloth to wipe away dusts when u park it outside - use the cloth whcih they provide for cleaning spectacles
4 - DO not cover your bike with any Polythin cover or any other cover - leave it under a shade or inside a parking lot of a seperate parking Room.

Similar problem with my Fz as well... Its a year now, color is Flaming Orange which is still bright, scratch-free, dust-free & gliterring as new.. ONLY PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THAT THERE IS BLACK-STRIPE IN MIDDLE OF TANK (color combination theme)... & only that part has somewhat lost its shine & developed similar dull & faded look as Apsy's p220. Me too looking for a good wax/polish for bike & also for tyres too...
Guys, plz help on above scenarios.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world

I believe what jd666 & thunder have suggested should be good enough to protect your bike from scratches. You cannot prevent the scratches but a good polish should make ur bike shine enough to hidehe scratches. Moreover I use a Formula 1 scratch shine polish. It is great.Enna Rascalla. Mind it !!!

it's normal when you buy a new bike/car , you are afraid of scratches
With time you will stop focusing on such minor things.

Now i clean it once a month or service guys at Hero honda clean it properly at the time of service
