  • Help me make Leh happen...

    Hi Fellow xbhpians,

The reason for the post is that, after seeing the numerous Ladakh experience with you guys. Me & my friends (3 guys) wanted to headout to Leh. This was really our dream to visit these places. As to maintain the heritage we wanted to do it in our machines. Still the date has not been fixed.

I was hoping that you guys can help me with this.

    1. What is best time to ride out to this place.
    2. What are the things we need to carry.
    3. What are the conditions we will be facing through out our journey.
    4. Leaving all other stuffs like Jacket, Knee pads, Elbow pads, Boots. What are the things that we need to take care of the bike & ourselves.
    5. Is One month of touring enough for this trip (is it too much or less).
    6. What would be the expenditure? We are planning to go by train till Delhi by packing the bikes & ourselves. From there head out to Leh.
    7. What would the idle traveling time (kms) per day.
    8. What are the places we need to visit on the way. Where we can find shelter, food, Fuel stations. I am also planning to go to Mount K2 (second highest peak in the world). Is it possible or I am just joking.
    9. If we find ourselves in a situation were our bike is punched or if something goes wrong. Can we find any hospitals, service stations or mechanic.
    10. IMP: CAN OUR BIKES DO IT. (FZ16, 2 PULSARS 150-This to might change because they are planning to buy new bikes.)
    11. Is there any thing I left out.

Do we need to modify our bikes to support the needs required?

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Query Moved and Approved.

One minor thing - you need to wait till March-April next year for the roads to open!

Hey buddy, we are just discussing the same topic in Hyd Offline MEEt tread of doing Leh next year,

The best time to do Leh is June & July, that too once the roads are open.

Posting one attachment which will help you a lot, even I have down loaded it from here.

Go through old logs which will help you a lot & know many things about Leh.
        Give way to trains.
