  • Dual carb on a bike! [Y-connection]

    hi guys!

the idea is if we install two carbs on a single cylinder bike [Y connection] , what will be the output of such arrangement.

with the head porting and re-boring going on i would like to know how would it turn out to be in a ported and rebored setup???

    thanx!

wont be too efficient, because the negative pressure produced by the piston will not be enough to drive the two carbs sufficiently. Rather one bigger single carb would be better.

If the idea is to pump as much air fuel mixture as possible, a lot of factors would go into play there, increasing the number of carbs will not.

but it looks like top end will benefit from it!

not really.. the duration of opening of the intake valve and the actual transfer of air fuel will govern these factors..

well what abt its like the fuel from the second carb will come after the vehicle has accelarated for sometime....mabbe something like only to increase the top end band we can use that.......posting something that crossed my mind

Hmm...Well that is when electronics/sensors come into play.So not feasible. Had it been valves then it would have been possible!!

^^ the turbo would have to be inbetween the carburettor and the engine intake. and it would have to be electrical or exhaust driven.

exhaust drive sounds exotic, electrical can be attempted.

What's actually difference between electric n mechanical turbo n can v use it for small cc Two stroke ....!

mechanical turbo is basically a supercharger, driven by the engine crankshaft, just like the camshaft. for a small cc engine, a turbocharger will be of no use, because the volume of gases required to spin the turbine might not be enough. supercharging would be the way to go, tho how much this old engine will be able to take the extra load, is debatable.
