  • Indian Army bikes : question

    Any army personnel here ?
To give idea about what kind of bikes (I know abt std 350 being used; any special mods for these?) pics, specifications etc ?

How does army overcome the issues with bullet 350 ignition etc. ? With the advent of TCI ignition, did they switch over to Electra ?

They still are using the same old STD 350. no changes at all just some components are said to be of a better build quality.

Not Army, but dad's in Air Force. Defence uses, STD 350, without any modifications. But these bikes have very limited uses, mostly used by the Military Police and for Piloting purpose.

In last decade there's an increased usage of CD100 and the likes.

While Our Enemy's Army(pakistan) got Motocross look-a-like Bikes with Rocket Launchers etc .RE Bullets are still used by the Army.I know ,that Army Bullets are supposedly built with precision.

They have been using CD100's of late, no new STD350's are being inducted for the past decade or so..
Reason being 100cc give better mileage and are low on maintenance.

There are no special mods other than saddle bags.
Chrome rims and bling ? get a real life !

Is the STD 350 which you are talking about is Bullet 350 CC diesel engine, because I have seen military green colored bullet bikes with diesel engine written on it, any idea why these bikes are diesel engine and how they are started, I mean by self start or kicking the diesel engine, I heard that bullets give a very bad kickback,, backkick,

my friends dad had one rajdoot, only my friend knew how to start it, whenever we tries kicking the bike , only the lever went down the bike did not start,, ;()

Infact, Bullets are the easiest to start...you can learn the art of starting in no time once you start riding this bike...this is the one bike which you can start with your hands on the kicker....I dont think any other bike is possible (Dont say I can start with the Self start)
