Which Bike? I dont think you need to get your coils rewound in order to use the Windtone horns on your bike without discharging the battery., IF your facing battery draining issues, then install a cut out in between so that less load is exerted on the battery.

its true that windtone horn can be driven without rewinding the coil,u please inform us make and model of ur bike.

also cutout is just a switch which bypass the load on the switch not the battery,so its a misconcept that cutout will draw less power

+1 to what the Doc says. The cut out is there just to save the stock switch's ass from burning off

Yup, relays or cut outs doesn't save battery but saves the switches.

First tell which bike are you riding. A bike with 2.5aH battery also can withstand windtones easily. Rewinding is not needed.

Check the batt clamps and fuse carrier for corrosion, normally fuse carriers are prone to corrosion due to acid fumes/spillage. If its a kick start bike, u wont notice it until the batt is almost flat. I used to drive a 3 pipe air horn on my old smurai with a 5AH batt without any issues.

Samurai has a 2.5 Ah battery, right? You changed it to 5 Ah? How did you get that to fit? Did you use it on the stock charging system?

A simple batt chamber expansion by change of one side batt clamp, only down side, I've to make an opening on the lower side of the side cover to make it fit, but wont notice it easily. No other changes in charging systems as its morethan enough for it.

More than 4 years with that and my batt never fried unless I use the fogs extensively. Nothing big in that, RR will feed for that much.

Guys what is this coil rewinding exactly and how is it done ???

Even i wanna do it in order to get support for a 55w bulb and a good loud horn.

Another thing is this that my battery being new still seems to be a bit weak cause it sort of fluctuates when headlight in on and i blow the horn or the turn indicators. What could be wrong ????

                        PLZ HELP !

Coil rewinding is just for the electrical power enhancement such as light, batt charging etc. The magneto coil will be rewounded with a thicker guage wire to get more current.more current means more brightness in higher watt bulb.

Dude be specific and give as much as infos for the support, nut shell queries wont reveal anything. Which bike is urs? We've got many bikes on the road

As i have mentioned above the fluctuation thing, do u know what can be the cause for it ????

And buddy how do i get the rewinding done and the cost for it ?????

As for Uni coil rewinding, I dont know, never heard of such thing from anyone, even I posted an enquiry about this in Uni's forum, no one answered as of now. But think its possible for a good auto electrician. Cost can be around 500 as its not at all a laborious work, but very few will do this. So ask them who will do this job in ur area.

Fluctuating of brightness, have u changed the bulb to 55/60W?, in such cases, it may happen as for Uni's having only one coil to feed light and batt. So if u load the coil with a higher watt, batt charging will be low. Other than this, check for any loose contacts/corrosion on wire sockets etc.
