  • Carb Tuning for 220 dtsi

Hi 21 days since i got my 220
i am loving every bit of it
    clocked 911 kms today
i think i am getting low mileage [even after following all instruction as mentioned in "how to get milage from over 150 cc]
    i am getting roughly 33-35.
People have reported to get 40+ even after ripping insanely.

I was thinking what will happen when i will start ripping

I am not concerned much [was riding my old ripped nova before which returned 18] as such, but then thought of saving some bucks to finance my bike mods

I read an article for tuning carb

    Link to teh article

How To Tune Your Motorcycle For Performance and Fuel Efficiency

i need advise from xbhpians [ i believe u peopel more] please!
    experts helP!

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Wait till the first few services are through, the bike has run in properly, and the oil has been changed atleast twice. Then the carburettor will/should be re-set by the service centre. That should improve on the efficiency.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

      - KTM Duke 200
      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

Am one of those who ripped the bike from 1 KM itself and followed a hard run in method. I got 45-46 for last tankful in city conditions and nice ripping uptill 8-9K RPM and 3-4 100+ bursts.

Can you tell me which run in did you do? Hard run in or what Bajaj tells to do?

Dont touch CARB atleast till 1st 2 services. Let the engine and FE stabilise, you can go to PBK and tell him to tune the carb for a bit more mileage afterwards.
He will adjust AFR but make sure some experienced mechanic does it.

          @ jd666
          1st service has been done
          oil has been changed twice
once by me and then by the pbk guys

          @coolboy

The problem is that there are already less mechs in nagpur
          and that too skilled
blah forget abt that, people trust pbk guys blindly
they were not even able to solve pity probs

I said to one guy "bhaiya ye fairing vibrate hota hai aur aawaz karta hai" [the fairing vibrates and makes sound]
His reply:- "konsa, kya fairing? ye samne ka plastic awaz karta hai kya?" [which fairing? does the front plastic vibes and makes sound?]

i contacted the main mech and his reply was "it is going to make sound, you better adjust with it nothing can be done" :X

when i told about the Double tape for fairing he was "what double tape"
