    hey guys ..

well i got one pulsar 220dts i ... after the second service i have been facing lot of issues !! 1st the bike stalled as tho no fuel ... and when i took to pbk .. they rectified and and they changed the CDI unit ... because mine was the old one ! when i tested the bike ... i found that the bike initially faced the same prob .. i mean stalls as tho new fuel .. but after 20 .. the bike is back to normal... they were meddling with carb !! they took it out several times .. was cleaning it ..and did all possible tricks ... but its of no use ... they replaced the carb !!!! now its reduced but still am facing this prob ... !!!! they are saying that ... it could be because of the petrol.... recently .... i drained the previous petrol which was in there in the bike ... added the normal unleaded petrol from a known petrol bunk !!! stilll ........ it persists !!! from my side its clear ... even checked for water in the tank but there is notn !!! my bike is always parked in the shed ....so the chances of water gettn through is kinda difficult !!! after they changed the carb ... my fuel efficiency has gone down drastically .... i would say am getting 25 kmpl ...

Please help me .... what should i do now ?? feel like sueing these people !!

at wat speed your bike is stalling?
if its at low speed or when u accelerate suddenly from stand still,
Re-position needle inside carb. It wil be fine and mileage will also improve.

-did u check the engine oil level??

-check the air filter box also for clogging

        - Whats the condition of the spark plug?

I was facing the same type of prob & the PBK guys tried changin lots of stuff but of no use. The problem was later found out myself just by fluk & it was the Petrol filter !!Just changed it & everything was ok. I change the filter now every 2000 kms. However mine is a 220Fi. Try chagin the filter, maybe even u'll get lucky. . .

                check, check and check!!~!!

                Hey buddy,

                as others have said,

1st try and chek the needle in the carb, as the petrol should be free flowing from it.
                check the air filter,
since the cdi kit is changed,
                check the spark plug also.

regarding the fuel, the mechanics must hv kept the setting on more fuel flow jus to make sure that it eliminates ur problem of stalling and gv no care abt the average.

get it checked by a good local mechanic rather than giving it in the showroom.
Ride Hard !!! Ride Safe!!! Enjoy every moment on your machine !!! Cheers....

also check how much fuel are you keeping in the tank. If it is P220Fi try and keep it always above the reserve mark. if it is below reserve than too there are chance of bike stalling. Fi bikes have this problem, you cannot say it a problem but they are made that way.

                      hello,
pulsar 220fi consist of two filters
                      primary and secondary
primary is attached to the fuel pump inside the fuel tank
and secondary below the fuel tank(white in color) that we usually change.
If ur bike is under warranty(2 years) then u r lucky.........
i also had a same problem also posted in xbhp, but my bike was not under warranty because i ignore this problem for 6-7 months.
i changed the fuel filter twice......still problem not gone.
Because, this was the problem with primary fuel filter that cost rs3500(because it is attached to the fuel pump and need to be replaced with fuel pump only)
                      so my suggestion
                      1) if ur bike is under warranty take ur bike to pbk, first they will replace ur fuel filter....if the problem is still there tell them the problem is with primary fuel filter they have to replace it free of cost....

2)if not in warranty then drive ur bike in same cond. keep fuel level above 4 liters......or spend rs 3500

                      sorry for bad english

Yes, i had the same problem. because of that i had kept idling at 2k RPM which was very irritating in signals.
Later during CDI replacement, said this problem to Engineer in PBK.
He asked mechanic to Re-position the needle inside carburator.
                        After that, no such problem.
Now, my bikes idling at 1k RPM, still no shutdown problem at any point of time.
It feels like it will pop a wheelie if I accelerate suddenly
