HELP: Need advice for the right engine oil for Hero Honda Hunk
hi, i own a 150cc hero honda hunk, its a little over a year old, i have been giving the bike to the hero honda guys for servicing, i wanted to move to a different oil and i know there a lot of options available, but i am confused with the grade of oil i should use, the service manual says that i should use 10w 30sj grade oil, i tried finding it but was unable to, all i found was 20w 30sj or something like that, please suggest me a good engine oil and i would also like to know the time interval between changing oils
ThanksTags: None

Well you need to check the Engine oil thread for more info, but as a general rule, the engine oil replacement and oil filter replacement information would be given in the owners booklet of your bike. ALso the replacement interval would be at every 3000 kms for normal oil.
Please check what is the specified grade of oil in the owners booklet. You said you found 10W30 in the service manual.
Also a lower first number might suffice, but a higher latter number will not. that means you can put 5W30, but not 10W40 or something.
My offerings to the gods of speed -
- KTM Duke 200
- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

i dont think there is 20w30 oil in market and if u r not satisfy with hh oils u can go with gulf 10w30 it is semi synthetic and there are many xtreme users happy with it and hope u will and by the way u can follow up engine oil thread u will have reviews from users

when the recommended grade is 10w30.. ensure the alternatives' are something like 10w40 or 5w40 .
more bluntly speaking, the number before w should be less than or equal to 10 and the number after w should be greater than or equal to 30 , but then there is a limit and i frankly don't know the limit.
there are several alternatives . u can go for gulf oil 10w30. many bikers here recommend that. For fully synthetic alternatives u have motul 5w40 and petronas sprinta 10w40.Originally posted by absarkhan View Postcan u give me the link to that thread? cant find it here, thanksguys..if you ever need blood or want to donate blood, please refer to this site :
