  • Unicorn handlebar change

Hi..i've a 2004 model honda unicorn. I'm not very happy with the riding position of the bike and so i'm planning to change the handlebar to pulsar's 180 ug3. However my mechanic says that i'll experience problems with my clutch cable as it is not very long enough 4 the new handlebar. He says that when i take corners with the bikes handlebar the clutch cable might feel the tension and this will directly affect my bike's performance. He has adviced me to change to a longer clutch cable. Is he right about this? If so where can i get a longer clutch cable? Are there any indian bikes with clutch cable longer than that of my unicorn? If so can i replace it with mine?
Or are there any other handlebars that will fit perfectly on my unicorn without ANY problems?

    Pls help..

Could be possible, but for that you will have to mount the stock clutch cable on the lever of the new handlebar, and then move it across the range of motion and find out for yourself only. no other better way for that.

My Sincere advice - DON'T PUT PULSAR HANDLE ON UNICORN.

The clearance between tank n handle is very low. Just a minor fall of bike slight handle bend will badly screw up the fuel tank. I too ignored what others said and I went ahead with Pulsar handle and resulting which the fuel tank of my Unicorn was screwed royally.

For Pulsar handle you need not change cable, you just have to reroute it.

After that I switched to RD350 Handle bar. It works like charm.
No issue with clutch cable as well.

What do u mean by rerouting the cable? How can it be done?

            hi bro ,
my advice- u may feel uncomfortable with other handlebars as once u change it ur riding position will not be much comfortable with small handlebars on uni. i have also tried to change it on my uni but found it unconventional, but if u want to change it for sure then u may try fz's or r15's. but take care as said by Shreeni0403

i saw u bike which is like the stunners bar & short too.....

wat h/b do u use... is there any prob with the bar fouling with body (rider & bike) while taking some tight turns...

i can say one thing u can go in for xtreme/hunk which is short & do not spoil the bike.........

do not go for fz which will easily foul with tank, even the p200 bar will not be a easy go as it will not allow the bike to lock...

well it's from honda itself and holes are Direct match .. no mods what so ever .. there is less clearance between tank and handle but they not touching eachother .. handle bar tilt may be a user preference and i like it low.. how ever u can make it more vertical so as to have comfortable riding position ...

mods i have done on it ... are to make it up to my liking .. i.e new holes for making it more broad , holes for weight at sides . it is solid from the side not hollow FYI.

what i wanted to say was .. by default it dont need any mod .. however i have done some mod on it so that i can fix pulsar like end bar weights & switch panels are more separated from each other so that it is of more width now.
