  • Shifting Gear Problem

I am learning to ride my new bike.
    1) My problem is whenever i try to shift gears from 1 to 2 i get some jerks in my bike. Also when i try to down shift i get some jerks. Is is due to improper leaving of clutch or due to throttle at improper time.Pls suugest some good methods in up shifting and down.

    2) Also how can i control my throttle.Since some times i have seen my RPM go above 4k till 6k.

    Thanks for the help.

adjust the play of the clutch...feel where the clutch gets engaged....this is something I did when I got my bike:

      1. start the bike and put on first gear
      2. do not give throttle and try to see if the bike is able to move with the idle speed basically half - full clutch transition....

more or less at the same degree is where you need to switch gears......also try to shift between 4k to 4.5k rpm...also do not throttle immediately after shift have a 1-2 sec lag...tht way u can learn and understand ur clutch behaviour....

But since my bike is new i don't think i can exceed more than 4k rpm.

had the same problem with my Baeel (Hunk). what you could do is in first gear go till 3000 rpm atleast. Then shift as fast as you possibly can to 2nd and leave clutch slowly,l feel it bite. In a couple of days you will realize the rpm at which it bites...throttle to that rpm while you leave the clutch gradually. The bike should not jerk!

try and try until u suceed

            Buddy,

as balaji sd, u need to adjust ur clutch settings, coz its a new bike and when u try to leave the clutch it will jump and dats why u r getting jerks.
best thing is to keep the setting on half clutch, wherein it will be easy for u to accelerate at the same time. dont worry maan u will get the hang of it.
jus dont look at the rpms for now as u will be confused coz different bikes hv different settings. jus dont focus on the rpms.
jus keep ur ind on the road and rest everything will fall into its place.
Ride Hard !!! Ride Safe!!! Enjoy every moment on your machine !!! Cheers....
