Performance Mods for Yamaha FZ16.
Its been a year since i got my FZ16. I was the first one in Thane City to own one. Its an amazing bike to ride. It handles like a dream, looks hot, and is a trend setter. However the bike has one serious fault. It doesnt have "Topend Power" that the R15 has. Even though Yamaha has designed this bike for the city, lets face it one is not always gonna ride it in the location its designed to excel. He is eventually gonna go for weekend rides or do some serious speed trashing. So i have decided to tweak my bike. I am looking for some basic ideas to begin with, since i want to go step by step because i have seen my friends doing full fledge performance mods and then getting bored due to limitations. I want some ideas to start from. If anyone has a Modded FZ16 his suggestions are most welcomed.Tags: None

you cant compare a FZ with R15 just because the engine capacities are the same
FZ is a carb fed one , air cooled and R15 is Fi and liquid cooled and the engine is tweaked and because of the deltabox frame the bike performs
for perofrmance mods you can go for
iridium spark plugs to start with , it will cost you 550 bucks
then if you want more you can add a K&N air filter
go for the R1100 it will cost you 3k
if you still want to tweak more you can go for a custom made Free Flow Exhaust
if you are still not happy
go for porting and polishing (ask your local mechanic)

Hello...K&N and Irridiums are good but make hardly any difference. One should start looking at carefully modifying components like the exhaust and the valvetrain (cams). Secondly use of non restrictive CDI and performance HT coils will support the above mentioned changes.
