  • Problem with neutral!! gear

i own a pulsar 180 UG4 which is clocked 4500(approx.), i had completed 3 of itz services as scheduled.now the hard part is that, anytime i try to shift from 1st to neutral the bike engages in 2nd gear and same when going from 2nd gear to neutral bike engages in 1st gear,.. i am having hard time to find neutral, and this happens when the bike is at standstill , while moving i didnot find it much difficult to find neutral.. , so as my bike is still under warranty so if something what should ido for this neutral problem??
i have always used 20W50 oil in my bike and oil level doesnot dropped during any of the services and the neutral shift problem is right from the day of purchase..

    plz help me!

try this, NOTE: Try this first on open stretch/parking/clear space....WARNING!!!

when you say it does not get into neutral, I will take it for granted it will not slot to first as well.
Option 1: Easy: Shut off engine.Pull clutch. Shove hard with toe.
Option 2: Moderately difficult : With engine running, pull clutch, rev engine a little (idle+200-300 rpm) and try to shift down (remember PULL clutch completely). When slotted to 1st, just tap up.
Option 3: difficult : Pull clutch, rev little, release clutch a little (not enough to pull/stall bike, then downshift quickly and at the point of shift reduce throttle and pull clutch.

try these methods. If they dont work PM me.

And yes, do try the second and third method, at least, in places where you will not hurt someone or yourself.

Flush engine oil and refill. when flushing check for metal shavings. If you find metal, get your gearbox checked.

Get the gear lever checked for any problems. If there is no problem, all you need is some practice. Shift lightly to go to neutral from 1st gear or 2nd gear.

The pulsar is cursed with a gearbox that lacks feel, hence the bikers who hav3e owned Japanese bikes in the past have to get accustomed to shift gears lightly on the pulsar, especially finding the damned nuetral!!
If this problem persists get the gear adjsuter checked on the next service!
My technique to find nuetral on my pulsar is to engage first gear, rev the bike to 3000rpm, let the clutch go lightly, then with a light foot, shift backwards, waaalaaa! YOU JUST FOUND THE NUETRAL!!!

I gun the throttle, the motorbike wails, the forks heave up, the revs climb, my view blurs, air gushes in my lid, muscles tighten, street lights streak. Just another day at work...

You can mention this problem at any bajaj service center or any of ur usual service centers ...... They can do it ..... They loosen or or tighten the gear lever

You just need some time to get used to it. Even i was facing the same problem when my bike was new.
As you get used to the gearbox you can switch to neutral pretty easily.
If things are not going right. Go left

Option 3 is the one I'm using, though i dont rev instead be in idle while doing this...
