  • CLUTCH PROBLEMS ON PULSAR 150.ug3

guys i own a pulsar 150 ug3 (2006) model.. the accelereation has become very very sloppy i feel the bike is runnin on the clutch as in if i give a sudden twist of throttle the rpm goes up but there is abs no immediate response in speed.. the odo reads 38,000km... guess i should've changed the clutch plate much earlier... i jus wanna kno ithe cost of the clutch plate assembly.. and if there's any sort of a thing called "performance clutch plates"... cheers...

friend change your clutch plates and the friction plates. no need to change the whole assembly unless there is vigorous vibrations on idle engine rpm.its worth also if you change your clutch cable too.i too have heard about performance clutch plates, these are clutch plates with more number of teeth and more long lasting plates, but i dont know how much performance it will give.

            One doubt...
            Are you a abuser(of bikes) ?

Or else this kind of trouble should have never happened ?

Dude i take care of my bike lik no one else!!!
but sometimes shit happens cant help it... well the exact thing wat happ was.. here goes..
i've been regularly servicin on time neva skipped even a single service...
n heck i'm no ABUSER of bikes.. trust me i kno the value of motors on two wheels...
but let me get on wid my story..
one fine day after a nice ride i noticed tat there was smoke comin out of the exhaust..
(guess it was my mistake not to rectify it at the earliest..)
but i rode even after tat n noticed tat the oil level dropped lik sands on a sand timer... then i got it checked.. the mech told u've to check the engine..
the old bore had developed all crooked lines..
it was then when i decided to go for the new bore..
n when it comes to clutch plates...
ve done about 40k on my bike..
              so its a mandatory change...
but all said n done now the ride is as good as new..

your clutch plates would have lasted longer if you had rectified that problem of smoke..the plates got burned due to lack of oil

Hey sorry for the late reply... well if u wanna make sure tat yo bore is ok.. first check if yo engine level is proper.. if its below the marker then there may be a prob.. because there will be a lack of proper lubrication for the engine... next u definitely have a problem if yo engine oil level drops fast and if you get smoke out of yo exhaust... these are the indications tat somethin is wrong wid the engine... if so get yo bore checked.. n see if it is scratched in the inner walls.. if it is scratched.. it means u've to get it rebored.. or better go for a new bore kit...
i hope this explains u the thing wid the bore.. cheers...
