  • RX battery charging

I am posting this query for a friend. He owns a RX 135 5 speed. He has restored the bike and wants to install HID on it. However he is worried about the battery charging of the stock RR unit being insufficient. So this is the query: HOW to increase the battery charging of a RX 135?

use a higher voltage regulator such as RD one.

        @ Aryan:Thanks for the aprooval.

@fohimuddin: Thank you for your suggestion. Can you suggest a regulator from a production bike? RD ones will be very hard to find.

the charger of the RX is of low frequency, at idle the voltage of the mageneto is about 7 volts, so the battery would actually get drained, rather than running the electrical.

The solution is to increase the number of poles on the magento, and improve the output of the magento, before adding the load of the HID. You could use a higher capacity battery, but negative draw from the battery would eventually drain the battery or not sustain the HID power draw.

RDDreams has a HID conversion kit for the RX series. check it out.
