  • Prob in my APache RTR

    Hi All,
am new to xbhp....im facing a weird prob wit my rtr 160 bike which had done 20k+ Kms. After 10-15 mins of running(warming up), if the bike exceeds 60km/hr mark, i get a scratching sound in the engine.Once i hear it, even if i reduce it to 20km/hr the rhythmic sound (krrrr...krrrr....krrrr..krrr) persists. I had my bike checked at authorised svc centers.he said some engine adjustment should solve the prob.nw even after 2 services it still persists. Its jus 1.5 yrs old and it hurts. can some1 guide me what the prob is and the solution as well??? plzz help Gurus

the sound may be due to worn out timing chain or wrong tappet adjustment or from worn out interlinking gears from crank shaft to gear box

Get the bike opened at an authorised service station and tell the engg to physically verify the engine gearbox and magnet from the inside. Over a considerable period of time this might damage the vital parts of your bikes engine. Do this ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are not satisfied with the work done to resolve the problem in your bike at the ASC, you may want to check the last few pages of RTR ownership thread, take those email addresses and escalate the issue.

              Front disc brake query

I own a Apache RTR 160, it has done 12200 kms. Few days back I went to TVS showroom to ask about font disc brake oil change. The mechanic there is saying that for every 7000 kms the front disc pad should be cahnged, is it true.
Guys if anybody has the information, kindly help me.

it is not like that . the disc pad has to be changed only when the Pad wear indicator go . front disc pads should easily last over 16K+ Kms .
