Fz16 head light and digital speedometer onto honda unicorn ?

    Fz16 head light and digital speedometer onto honda unicorn ?

    Hello i own a honda unicorn 2007 model and i want to give it a muscular look so i want to replace my stock headlight with that of fz16's and the digital speedometer of fz. Can it be done by any mechanic if given the headlight unit and speedometer or any professional is required to do that ?

      The headlight mod shouldn't be too difficult for a faily-experienced mechanic, but I'm a bit skeptical of how the FZ's 'parking bulb' would be connected/wired into the Unicorn's electricals. However, if you look around you'll see a few forum members here with FZ headlights fitted into their Unis. I hope one of them reads your query and replies.

        The speedo is not easily done. Uni uses analogoe speedo, while FZ uses digital one. Both are different in their workings.

          The parking bulb will plug into the pilot lamp IMO. If the UNI has one

            RHS switch gear can be changed to put parking and headlight as in other bikes but i seriously doubt if the FZ speedo can be installed easily or not as the FZ has 17" wheels and the speedo is calibrated to that diameter whereas Unicorn has 18".

                according to me it can be done as it wouldnt make much of a difference.
                the explaination is as follows.

                the circumference of the front wheel of the fz is approx 133cm. and that od the unicorn's front wheel is 141cm.

                so basically if on fz the speed is 30kmph then the speed on unicorn will be approximately 32kmph. when at 60kmph the uni will be at 64kmph. big deal?
                you can fit it along with its sensor.

                the only thing i am not sure about is one thing if the tachometer will work or not. because i dont know where that sensor is located on fz and how it is calibrated.
