Iam not sure if your handle bar if bent can be set right or not. But if you have had a fall your front forks are the first things to get bent. They are the most fragile. Get that checked. Also get the wheel and the steering cone set checked. These are the most common things to make the bike veer to a side.
Coming to the road grip simply go in for better tyres if you are not happy with stock ones. More than rear, one must have better front tyres.
Tyres are never the culprit. We need to adjust our riding style with the traction limits of the tyre.

have had the same problem and its tough to diagnose because it takes a long drive to realise small balancing issues... this is why most sc guys get it wrong... but if they aren't listening to you ( same thing happened to me) you can complain to the manufacturer about the AUTHORIZED service center and they should help you... at least bajaj did with me.

Now there could be few other problems that cause this problem: I'm guessing you are saying its the front tyre wobble because u referred to the handle bar... make sure of this(not doubting you... just in my case it was difficult to tell... I thought rear tyre was wobbling but it was actually front)

other probs that can cause this:
1) alignment of the bike is out of wack ( check this by wetting the tyres and driving straight on dry ground.... only one tyre tread mark should be seen... if there are two then ur alignment is wrong and needs to be fixed)

2) cone set like previous post
3) swing arm bearings( some call it bushings.. can be checked by seeing if rear tyre moves side to side by pushing on it...it should not move at all)
4) bent swing arm
5) bent rims( check for trueness)
6) uneven tyre wear
7) bent disc plate( check this by laying on flat surface... should remain flat.. if not then bend is there)
8) bent forks or slightly turned forks cuased by weak fork bracing( you can check for bend by rolling on flat floor the fork... bend is evident it any part rises up off the floor)
9) chasis bend( tell the guy to take of the tank and the seat cover... and chasis can be seen... check for any bend or break...

first thing to do IMO would be to check ur swing arm bearings, alignment, cone set, and forks... they are the main culprits( at least in my case after the fall)


if you want more grip then u can go for a softer compound tyre... and slightly wider( although bigger tyre than what your bike is supposed to have has its own down sides....)

call up the company's corporate office in noida and complain. Also ask them to send the nearest service engineer of yamaha to your service centre or to your place to check and verify the bike for himself, since you feel the dealer is not capable of recovering or solving the issue for you.

Apparently yamaha has been muddling up a number of cases. My friend had to get his front fork springs replaced under warranty on his FZ, they kept him waiting for three weeks. then finally when i advised him to go ask them for the purchase order number ( since they kept saying its on order, and will be delivered soon), or else he is calling up the service engineer for the area. He got his springs replaced in three days.

try to rectify your forks...remove its "out"
get your wheel out done too...

thanx everyone for the suggestions... After the accident the sc guys had repaired the front fork bent and chasis bent(and had also charged heavily for it) so i dont think it shud be the culprit. And i've even got the fork and wheel checked by local mechanics n they say its ok. Maybe i shud call up yamaha once and complain, because i dont wanna get my bike touched by local mechanics, even though they claim they can set the handle bar straight.

Will also try Bangalore Wheels and keep you posted.

@dggopal: thanx for the analysis. Let me ask the sc guys to check all these things. About the tires, is a wider MRF nylozapper a good upgrade?

Tat swing arm bearing is the reason i think.. i had same prob in my p150 ug 4 and they changed tat strain bushings.. now it is rectified..

u r cheated by svs all gladiators are come with MRF tyres
