Thanks JD666, Manual is helpful to manage my RX135 Oil Pump. I am trying to adjust Oil pump by myself. A mechanic put the oil pump to high level it is consuming 500 ml oil in just 200 km run. I recently got rebore done, and completed Run-in 1000 km. I moved out of city and trying to decrease the pump action.
Do you have any information on whether oil pump in RX 135 4S, and RXG has similar oil pumps?

Your mechanic is in way done good to you by keeping the oil flow good. This would help in smoothing and set the rings. You'll need to add extra lube than recommended 30ml/litre of petrol during run-in period. In other words, If I were you, would run the bike with 40ml/litre till first 1000kms and maintain 40-50kmph. Now that the run-in is over, go ahead and adjust the oil pump flow now per manual.
Word of caution: Check oil pump regularly and it is prone to malfunction and would lead to engine cease.
With regards to Oil pump question on RXG and RX135:- I believe the oil pump is the same for RXG and RX135 initial models. Later the catcon models(2003?) is slightly smaller in size. Best way is to take the old oil pump with you if intend to purchase a new one.Last edited by SriramEfunds; 01-21-2011, 09:48 PM.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

I recently restored RX 135 (2002) model. I'm worried about the oil pump. If the pump fails and if it do not come to my notice then the engine have to run dry. So as precaution, I'm adding 20-30 ml oil per liter of fuel. Still I believe in the concept of Oil pumps and I'm totally new to 2 stroke also the bike maintenance. So I want to know the best and the simplest way to check whether the pump working or not.
Before start using the RX I studied the little about the working of the engines. At present I'm checking it by removing the oil inlet to Carb from the pump in the running of engine to check the oil. But in this method I cannot understand the how much oil actually flowing. So Please help me in this regard.
And about the engine condition, it is running on the 2 level of bore. And after the restoration, around 600km ran and I'm not riding it for the long run till I get the belief that everything inside going perfect because I love this bike and do not want to ruin it.
Thanks in advance

Re: RX 135 workshp manual and owners manual wanted
These pumps dont fail every now and then, 2t pumps are quite fail safe i would say, there is no need to check the pump everyday, if a working pump fails, you will immediately know that something has gone wrong with the engine, engine will not run smoothly gear shift will become hard and the engine sound will change.Originally posted by sourcecode View PostHello Sir,

Re: RX 135 workshp manual and owners manual wanted
Thank you for the reply. There is a reason for my worry about the oil pump. After the restoration and running around 500km I found the problem of oil leak and one of the place was near the plate where oil pump is residing. So I took the bike to a mech near my place. He opened the pump for the service then he showed that the piston like shaft inside the pump had a deep scratch and at the bottom some mud was collected. So he cleaned the mud and removed scratch by the sand paper up to some extent. Now there is no oil leak near the pump but I can feel only some sweating of oil but no leak of a single drop.Originally posted by kusmaker View PostThese pumps dont fail every now and then, 2t pumps are quite fail safe i would say, there is no need to check the pump everyday, if a working pump fails, you will immediately know that something has gone wrong with the engine, engine will not run smoothly gear shift will become hard and the engine sound will change.
The mech said the machine is good and told to come for an oil change after 1500km. Still I feel that the machine is not that smooth. I feel some hiccups while riding but I don't know whether the problem is in the machine or in my mind. So I need to figure out whether the machine is really in good condition or need some work. And the major problem is restoration was done at a different place than I'm currently living in.

Do you feel these hiccups from the very first day of restoration or just recently, still get your carburetor checked and tuned optimally, sometimes leaning of mixture due to extra 2t also give you the feeling of this jerking.Originally posted by sourcecode View PostThank you for the reply. Re: RX 135 workshp manual and owners manual wanted
Cleaned carb after 500km and tuned recently too. After some time of restoration the hiccups were there also a lot of starting problems but after the carb clean both the problems were solved. But recently I'm facing the same problem, and as you said this may be due to oil. Because I add 20ml of oil per liter of fuel also my oil pump is working. I add oil to be safer side if anything go wrong and to avoid rusting of tank. What I'm doing is wrong??Originally posted by kusmaker View PostDo you feel these hiccups from the very first day of restoration or just recently, still get your carburetor checked and tuned optimally, sometimes leaning of mixture due to extra 2t also give you the feeling of this jerking.

Re: RX 135 workshp manual and owners manual wanted
Most of the times these hiccups occur due to lean mixture, is your bike doing like this while accelaration Brrrrrrrrr, Brr, Brr, and then again when you twist throttle engine resond like this Brrrrrrrrrrr., mean your accelaration is not smooth, if you have to constantly twist the throttle to make your bike go, then mostly it's tuned towards lean mixture, or air is leaking into your AFR, just open your bikes spark plug and see what is the colour of the tip , it should be medium tan, if it's very light near to white in colour then you are running on lean mixture, how much of 2t oil are you adding from the top, you shouldn't go beyond 40ml/Litre, most of the 2stroke owners add oil from the top in the fear that if the oil pump fails they will never know and without 2t oil engine will get destroyed, as i said earlier these pumps are very good and very very rarely fails.Originally posted by sourcecode View PostCleaned carb after 500km and tuned recently too.
