Apart from asking for help/ tips/ etc., there are many threads in the "Tourer" section which has logs, photographs and experiences of many of us who have actually managed to done Leh/ Ladakh successfully. Please search through the forum; I am sure those trip-logs would be really helpful to you.

Appreciate your Zeal to go to Leh, but routes are closed as of now and would be thrown open to general traffic after May end. This is but off course when we are talking about the Manali Leh route, not very sure if the Srinagar Leh route is closed anytime of the year or not.

Also, rather then asking for help on the forum, do some ground check. We can suggest you thousand and one things which might not be just right for you.

When I did Leh in 2008 on my Pulsar, I had a complete novice with me as my companion on his CBZ extreme and we did the entire trip without any hiccups. But that was only after we did a thorough ground check and after we got ourselves prepared for almost anything under the sun/ moon.

Leh is just another place on Earth if you know how to ride, and lets not kill the real fun of it by going over the Board.

See when then roads are thrown open to the public, pack up your bike and go ahead. You'ill Love it.

As for the basic information, just check the tourer section and you will get information more than required.

However, should the need arise, you may still PM few of the seniors who would be glad to offer their help.
