  • Seeking ride advise

    Hello fellow bikers,

I am planning to do a bangalore - jaipur solo ride. Any suggestions/advise would definitely help me. Besides this, i had few concerns:

    1. How safe is it to ride solo till jaipur? ( stupid question, but a must )
    2. what are my options to spend the night? Should i take shelter in hotels or roadside dhabas? (safety is the primary concern here)
    3. What would be the best possible route? i was thinking of taking the GQ.

    thanks in advance.

I advice hotels with parking facility. If you are travelling solo, it is unadvisable to spend the night in a dhaba!

would be a great ride man!!!
I have been planning for pune-jaipur since sometime.. but couldn't do it for personal reasons..

      route,as I can see is:

bangalore - Pune = 850 Km.. doable in 14-15 hours.. stay in pune.
pune to Ahmedabad = 700 Km.. halt
      ahmedabad - jaipur = 700KM..

this route seems to be the best with highways..
but this is with high riding speed.. can make it to 4 days also.. depends upon your riding style and purpose of travel..

there are plenty of short routes as shown by google map.. But no idea about them..

Infact, i am planning the same. Recently worked out that I have couple of frenz in pune and ahmdabad where i can spend the night. So, it would be:

        Bangalore-Pune on DAY1.
        Pune - Ahemdabad on DAY2.
        Ahemdabad - Jaipur on DAY3.

Actually I wanted to leave my bike back home at jaipur as i am traveling abroad for a long duration. Now, i really don't trust the packers and movers or Indian railways for that matter, when it comes to bike transportation. And what better than ride yourself?

I don't want to sound negative, but would like to shed 2 cents of my experience.
I've done several long drives (yes by car not bike) & in my opinion, a 700 Km trip by car takes 12 hours on a split of around 500 Kms 4 laned completed NH & remaining 200 Kms of old Indian fashioned 2 lane highway. So 850 Kms in 14-15 hours is kind of questionable to me especially with the next 2 days of 700 Kms. I don't mean to say its not possible, but would like to say, have "Plan B".

Sure, i will take care of that.

From my experience, i have done more that 5-6 rides where I rode 600-700 kms in a day and a total of 1800 to 2000 in 3 days. Besides I am not targeting 14-15 hours or any timeline for that matter. All I am hoping is to get to the desired destination at the end of each day just in time to get some good rest.
