    [Photo Feature]: Help me to reducing seat height for pulsar

    Hey,
    I am thinking about to fit low height seats for my pulsar. It gives a nice sporty look to the bike. Is there any disadvantage with it? Please help me.
    I am putting some pics without seats (With my L board ). so you guys can have some idea what i am talking about !
    Is there anyone who does this before?

      interesting. What you can do is remove the padding from the existing seat plate, and apply a thin hard foam lining, like maybe half inch maximum. Then get a seat cover made accordingly.

      You will waste the seat, but atleast it will give you a lower seat height than normal.

      Hope it helps.

        Thank for the idea pal. is there any disadvantages doing this mod?
        I mean handling problems, uncomfortable with long trips etc.... ?

          Actually a firm seat is desirable for long rides. A soft seat will make you more uncomfortable over long distances. So a thin seat will help matters, but in terms of damping, you will have your suspension only to rely on.

              ^^ there is some cushioning that is provided by a soft seat. But in a firm seat, the cushioning or damping is minimum, so the bike's suspension will only provide the damping/cushioning/comfort etc.

                  Can a 5'3" guy like me be able to ride this bike with ease and comfort after lowering the seat? I tried the unmodified seat at the shop and I can hardly reach the ground.

                    you will face problems in long drives because you are cutting the foam by say 1 inch and inserting a soft foam.
                    Because in long drives,the foam looses its spongyness and becomes hard as a rock and at this time,the suspensions adds to the problems

                    Yeah but if you are getting very good quality soft foam then definately your seat height will be lowered by one inch and you will also have no problems in long drives.
                    Please assure for a good quality foam while doing this.
                    The only disadvantage will be change in center of gravity which may affect stability at high speeds but you will have greater stability on curves and bends on roads.
