There are two things about your question:

    1. If the number plate reads '1'. Most often cops might not pull you up. Usually this number considered some VIP. If you carefully observe, not many you might have heard number plates which displays just '1' (XY-12AB-1) being questioned for number plate regularities.

    2. Yes, the format actually should be 0001, I have seen many government vehicles XY-09 - AG-0001) bearing the single digit number has zeros in the begining.

+1 to that. Though I've 900, I still asked them to write 0900 on my Activa.

just wanted to know if getting a custom registration number for a bike is possible or not and if possible what is the procedure.
                e.g.: a number for a certain state is XY-12-Z-****
can we get custom number for the '****'?

                    hello friends

Finally decided to buy my Bike after so many months of going through XBHP.
Can anyone let me know what are the documents required for Registration of a Bike.
P.S.: I reside in Kerala. Does the RTOs of different states demand different documents for registration?

Is it a new one or a second hand?

New One: You will need to provide residence proof photo id ( guess) to the Dealer. He will take it forward to the RTO along with vehicle invoice etc to get it registered.

Second Hand: Would simple suggest you approach the auto consultant to make your life simple. ( Documents: Photo id. residence proof, RC book, check if FC required, ownership transfer form etc).

By the way what is the bike you have decided?

                        Thank you bro
I'm going for a new R15. The dealer told that I've to give my Address over phone and they will do the Temporary registration.
So the Address proof and ID proof will suffice for the Permanent Registration?
