  • HELP : Installing a digital clock in my Unicorn

    Hi All,

I am very much used to see time very now and then
So I was thinking to install slim digital clock inside the speedometer assembly.

    Requirements
It should be slim to fit inside speedometer. It should work with bike battery itself.
It should ve a backlit display. (Optional else can manage with LED's)

Are there any clocks as such so I can install it in my bike ?
Any tips / suggestions on how to do this ?

Plz don't suggest to install Digi-Speedo or to fix wrist watch

    Thanks in adv.

Even I thought of the same thing when I bought the bike and then dropped the idea cauze of non availability of this. I was thinking of Tata Indica's digi clock but it takes more room, so personally no contribution from my side dude.

I have one of these lying around at home. If its really urgent you can use it . stick it with some double sided tape or duct tape :P

          Jokes apart .

You get these Displays in SP road .

I am not into electricals but you need to check if you can convert this display to a clock. I use a similar display for my Air fuel meter and volt meter. If you can get hold of some electrical guy i am sure you can convert that display to a clock and fix it . You can water proof it by using some silicon sealant.

CHeck the attachment . Thats the display on my bike . It shows me the Air Fuel Mixture / battery Voltage . Have a toggle switch to see one of them all the time. Am sure you can make a clock out of it shouldn't be difficult .

            Why bother so much?
Get a zma meter or even better, get a ZMA

Jokes apart, u can surely try ones in CARS. But IMHO, getting one on unicorn's meter is difficult.

Nice! Made it yourself? Got any schematics?

And, abt the AF meter, what sensor did you use at the exhaust end? Will the one from say, M800 MPFI work? (Basically, the cheaper the better!)

@Shreeni - About the clock, better get a wrist watch and paste it there. Cheapest solution yet. Else get a car clock. I am sure you will get one small enough.

                here we go
                Shreeni's thread hijacked .

Abhijeet . Thats a generic purpose DPM. I just got a 12v to 6v DC regulator and fixed it on the bike.

                I use a Denso O2 Sensor it costs Rs.1600/- .

Car clocks wont be a nice fit for any bike consoles bcz it takes lot of space to accomodate, and it may create issues for the needles. Why dont u stick a nice Rs. 35/ digi watch and be content with that U wont get a back light for that, but if you try with the back light switch to a external sw can do the job.

Go to some access shop and and look for some compact car clocks with backlight option. And route the backlight from the batt like RossyFan said.
