  • USD Forks and wider lightweight tyres for P 220

    Hi Guys,

10 days back I got my 220 F brand new. As this is my second 220 I want to customise her. Is it possbile to install USD forks on it and I want to take the rear mudguard off and want to fit the number plate holder bracket from the 135 LS is that possible. After taking that mudguard off I want a 130 rear tyre which should be very light as I dont wish to compromise on the performance. Also I want both the disk plates to be petal type I have an option of installing the RTR ones and the front brake fluid box also has to be changed to the one which is on sports bikes or the R15 race kit.

Along with this I would be customizing the Speedo Led's

Need your help so that the results can be super good looking without compromizing the performance !!!!!

There is nothing to feel sorry about in asking for a help Mate! It's when u receive no replies from others just think whats wrong there? Is ur mods practical? Will it increase ur performance in any way? All u wanna do is just purely cosmetic upgrades which no one would be interested in as all have stepped up to exploring the possibilities of radical engine mods! So, just give some time and by the mean time u can explore all the Indian websites that provide these kinda mods, check out KRP, MXSmotosport and similar sites.. they'll be of a great use to ur mods! All the best!

Ok here's my take on this:

              1) USD forks : No Indian bike has these, and a pulsar frame is going to handle bad no matter what

              2) 130 rear tire: IRC has one, I think its the Ninja rear tire

              3) Disc rotors/master cylinders: Don't know if this could be done but you will have to ask the modifiers...don't see anyone here who's done this so far

              4) Speedo LED's : There is a thread on this somewhere, you can get the info.

Maybe you should drop the USD forks idea. I also had thought of putting a P220 engine in an R15 chassis but all this is very expensive.

Finally for jackets go to the Riding gear thread.

Not too much, but hope it helps.

USD forks i dont think the chassis is going to take that mod ... wat exactly is ur intention behind installing a USD forks ? ??

                !30 rear tyre .. . as said above IRC's got 1 130/70-R17" which is a very good tyre ...

And disc ... dont tink of this mod its too costly u need to change the alloys disc, rims, calipers, cables, and the whole set .... if money isnt a problem for you ... it costs around 9k .... m not very confirmed about the rear .. .

yup the led's can be changed according to your convenience a good modifier will find no problem but its time taking depending on what you want to change . .

riding jackets........ you will have plenty of them go to riding gear section.. .....!!!

Check out the riding gears section for more details; Go for DSG, they're quite expensive as money is not your criterion.

                        USD forks can be used...
but you will have to get the complete front end from some other bike because...
stock lower and upper triple tree wont work as USDs are way thicker...
stock disc or caliper cant be used as the mouting points of the calipers are different...
and i dont think you would wanna keep the skinny rim and tyre of the 220 with the beefy USDs...
so if you wanna go the inverted way keep looking for complete front ends from a wrecked bike or if you are reallyyy rich get new ones...
ohhh... and the bearings from the new triple tree has to be replaced by pulsar triple tree bearings... go for ntn... they make really good bearings...
and dont go for catridge USDs as they wont make much difference... and they are for bling bling purposes only...

almost any if not all forks can be fitted...
but you have to do a little shopping around for bearings if the steering stem is FATTER than the one used in pulsar...
if you are doing it just for the looks the ones from comet should do just fine...
but if its for performance it will not make much difference as the ones used on comet are cartridge type...
the forks from comets are around
                              lower triple tree ₨ 4,833.63
                              forks ₨ 31,418.63
                              upper triple tree ₨ 2,577.94
i think it will be cheaper if you can source wheel, discs, caliper and make mounting for the calipers from india... cuz hyo brakes arent really good but costs too much...
as i have no idea about the availability of bike parts in india, i cant really say which bike you should go for...
if i was you and parts from wrecked bike were widely available i would go for something with adjustable forks and radial brakes... trust me spending that much on hyo forks aint worth it...
