  • Chassis - Chassis Number Related

    Hi people,

This is for my friend. He was involved in a bike accident last new year eve and he got his bike (FZ-16) damaged to a great extent.

Now that he got his bike from the SVC, the SVC people told him that the chassis has been changed and my friend was billed for it, around 5K.

But, when we inspected the bike, the chassis number remains the same as that printed in the RC book.

This is the context. So my doubts are:

    1. Is'nt chassis number unique?
    2. If a chassis is replaced, would not i get a new chassis number with the new chassis?
    3. Or is there a way to maintain the same chassis number in the new chassis also?

Please reply to all my queries. It would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance.
