  • Hydraulic Tappet adjustment.

Hi guys. I own a 2009 RE TB Twinspark which - as u all know-comes with hydraulic tappets. After the 1K kms mark started gear shifting at around 2500RPM.From then on while maintaining the engine at 2500RPM I am getting very audible tappet noise. I enquired everywhere from the authorised SVC to local bullet gurus about adjusting the hydraulic tappets. All are saying theres "NO WAY TO ADJUST IT". They say it tightens or loosens all by itself when they like!

Is it true? 'Coz As per my study over the net nobody is saying adjusting the Hydraulic Tappets are impossible. Please help me with this....

    -Thanks in advance

The mechanics are correct: hydraulic tappets are self-adjusting and normally have no provision for manual adjustment.

However, hydrualic tappets can cause problems due to damaged seals, dirt, wear and tear or manufacturing defects. Go to an experienced mechanic and ask him to check the tappets, presuming you are sure that they are the cause of the problem.

Thanks for the approval Aryan Bhai.

@ iamvik. Thanks for the reply bro. So the SVC guys are adamant about there is nothing wrong with the tappets. So damn unsure of what i gotta do....

The RE dealers aren't always the best mechanics for Bullets. Find out if there are any well known independent mechanics who specialise in Bullets.

Yeah I consulted some of the well known bullet mechanics. Unfortunately noone is familiar with the UCE.
