  • FZS-no petrol in reserve

i have bought FZS recently.as the manual says ,it has 1.4 liters reserve capacity.but when i ride the bike with fuel cock in main ,engine shuts off due to empty tank.it doesn't start even when cock in reserve position.when i checked the tank at that time it was totally empty.isn't it should hold 1.4 l petrol for reserve.
am i doing something wrong?when i checked this problem with the mechanic,he doesn't seems to encounter such problem before and was not able to rectify it ?
what the heck is the problem?

      Never heard anything like this.

Probably your fuel tap is culprit and letting out reserve fuel also in main.

If you're sure, take the bike to Yamaha A.S.S immediately & I hope it is still under warranty

Cuprit should be the Fuel Tap - had experenced this before in one of the Bikes - as the Fuel Tap Still Still allows petrol to Flow even if the bike is in Reserver, ON or OFF.......

Should change your Tap - as it should be under company Warranty....

            @ Thread starter

First please check out if you are riding with the Fuel tap in ON position and not in Reseve position, I once had similar experience with a Hero honda bike as its opposite position of what it'll be in Bajaj bike for ON.

i.e-> ON for BAJAJ bike = RESERVE in hero honda and vice versa.
So first thing you check out you are riding with on position..
If that is correct then its problem with your fuel tap..
