    [Help]: A serious problem with my RX 100

    Last night a strange thing happened to my rx 100 which have never ever happened before.

    When i m riding it , bike faced accelaration issues. When i accelarate bike for ataining more speed it feels like loosing petrol (condition of shifting from ON to RES.).After pulling choke , it starts running normally. But after 5-10 seconds this thing again happened.

    Please note - i shifted my bike from on to reserve mode from statrting but this prob happened again and again.Pls help.

      get the petrol T checked/changed, there is a problem with the flow of fuel to carb thats the reason its happening.

        i was having a similar problem with my P180 Ug2...
        at the 5th gear beyond 5000rpm it used to feel like the bike is running out of fuel...
        the problem was sorted out by the service center guy...
        they adjusted/tuned the carb, i.e the fuel air mixture (rich/lean mixture screw)...
        get urs also checked... Getting the carb cleaned and then tuning it should sort out the prob...

          Can happen due to carb issues or petrol quality. This had happened to me couple of years back after filling from a crappy bunk. Cleaned the fuel tank and the prob was solved.

          If you have washed your bike recently and the water has managed to find its way into carb or fuel tank then this can happen. Bike won't rev at all. Getting the carb cleaned from a local mech solved the prblem for me.

            tuning the carb may be an issue. but since its happening to you for the first time I doubt that

            yes I faced a problem like this and when the Fuel T was opened it was covered with dirt and after cleaning it and petrol tank my problem got solved

              This cannot be solved by tuning the air-screw. You need to get a bigger main-jet to sort this problem. air-screw is only operation in initial part of throttle operation. 5000rpm is above 1/2 open throttle in all gears.

              Check float settings in the carb. Is this a new problem occuring for the first time? Float issue most likely. Also check fuel-flow and clean/replace. Good opportunity to replace fuel tubing.

                a bigger main jet... where do i get that from n what diff does it make???
                this prob was sorted quite quickly by the mech so i didn't really bother the find out what exactly went wrong...

                  Did he remove the carburetor and open it?

                  Most plausible problem description is that when you are on the throttle for an extended period of time, the bowl is emptied and the engine starts dying. Once you pull choke and close throttle, bowl fills again and the engine coughs back to life.

                  If you keep the bike at steady throttle at 50-60kph - this problem doesn't happen.

                  Is this correct?

                    He didn't open the carb. He just fiddled with a screw on it...
                    The problem didn't occur when i kept it at steady throttle.

                      Adjusting air-screw cannot solve this problem AFAIK.

                      from idle to 1/4 throttle - Pilot Jet in use
                      from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle - Air screw settings effective
                      from 1/2 to WOT - Main Jet

                      Get the carb cleaned thoroughly, adjust the float to allow more fuel into bowl before closing fuel supply and if these don't help, move to a bigger main jet.

                            Whoa!!! I'm late to post here. Anyway I've been having the same issue for quite sometime now (say about 2-3 months), however mine is little different. The same issue of engine shut off happens but at different times at different speeds, I mean no pattern. However for one pattern is that, when the fuel is half to end, this does not happen & usually it happens between full tank to half.

                            Solution - Just open the gas tank slightly & then close it. You can start the bike immediately. No need for choke (otherwise I was using choke too).

                            Why this happens - I don't know. May be some experts can shed their opinions here.

                              ^^ the breather hole in the tank cap is choked... so no air can enter the tank, and a vacuum is created. Get tank cap washed in petrol.. or spray wd-40 in all the openings you can find.
