    THUNDERBIRD wobbling

    hey bikers,
    i am actually new to xbhp and this is my 1st post here. I own a 2007 RE Thunderbird. I met with an accident a few months back but luckily me and my bike got away with minor scratches(at least that was just what i thought). Since that event i ride very cautiously and seldom cross the 70 kmph mark. But i have indeed noticed a discomfort when i turn my bike right or left and if feels as if my rear tyre would skid away and i might fall...first i thought that something might be wrong with the tyre and i got it checked and the mechanic said that there was nothing wrong with the grip of the tyre. One day a friend and me were riding on our respective bikes when he who was riding behind me noticed the wobble and asked me to stop as he thought something was wrong.

    Can anybody please tell me what could possibly be wrong?

    and yeah the chain set is fine...i got that checked too and got it cleaned and lubed but still that slight dicomfort persists.

      Did you get your rims checked for true ness??? when your friend was riding behind you, did he notice the rim wobbling??? Loose spokes could be the issue for the wobble. Next up you could check the wheel bearings, and proper alignment of the wheel ( by the snail type chain tensioner on both sides )

          get the wheels, axle support checked.
          also get the wheel alignment checked.
          do you feel a drag when you turn or drive fast in a straight line?
          are you having to hold the handle a littl cross to keep the bike straight?

            i dont feel a drag, it's different, as if the rear wheel would just skid and the bike would go off balance(only at turns)

            no, i don't think there's anything wrong with the handling...i am pretty sure its something under my seat with the rear wheel which is wrong

                    Refer image for Swingarm.Its the thing which holds tyre to the bike body.
                    You need to check "Bushes" of swingarm for play.

                    Most imp:

                    Check your fork tubes for bend.

                      hey guys...
                      i got everything checked and i got to know that the rear alloy wheel of my bike is bent.
                      is there any way i could get it straightened somehow as getting a new one would be a costly affair.
                      i live in delhi, so if anybody knows about places where i can get a job like this done, kindly share the info...plz

                        still wobbling

                        guys i m still facing the wobbling issue with the rear wheel of my T-bird. Though it's been manageable but i want to get things straightened. Is there any place u guys know where i can get my wheel straightened.
