I took then float out just then. It is fine, there are no cracks or petrol inside. I submerged it in a bucket of water but there were no bubbles or anything. So the float is fine and doesn't have a leak. I don't know what I'm checking for when I'm looking at the needle. I mean it has a little wear and tear and is possibly a tiny bit bent. But I can't see anything that presents a major problem.
One other thing I should mention is that I'm having problems with the clutch. I've tried my best to adjust it every way possible but still have small problems with gear changes. A friend told me that the clutch plates are either worn or the spring behind them needs replacing. The clutch plates are new so that can't be the problem.
But I'm thinking, maybe the clutch plates aren't engaging properly because they're slipping or something and that is effecting the performance. After testing it, it isn't just the mid range, the high range is effected quite a bit as well. So maybe the clutch slipping doesn't effect performance so much when I'm just cruising along slowly, but as I accelerate it really becomes noticable.
regarding clutch plates being worn out.....i have a method of checking it in my bike....at 6000 RPM i know my bike should be doing 72-74 KMPH in 5th gear, if you know sumthing like this for your bike u can instantly find out.

Well I have a 4 speed bike and don't have a rev meter. So I'm not really sure what I can do. I think I'll just have to take it into the mechanic soon. He will probably know what is wrong straight away and be able to adjust everything as required.

As a last question, I see people talking about waxing their bikes after polishing them, where can I wax in Delhi? Are there any shops that sell it in Khan Market?

I took it to the mechanic and he adjusted the clutch. It's working almost perfectly now. The clutch plates were slipping alot before. Now they aren't slipping at all and the gear changes are much better.
It is still lacking the original power though. When I take it back to him in a few days I'm gonna get him to replace the front wheel bearings and test ride it to see what he thinks is wrong. It is totally fine to ride around on like it is, but I'm mainly worried that because it isn't performing as powerfully as it should, something isn't adjusted properly which would then be bad for the bike.
So hopefully I can figure it out soon.
