  • Problem with my RX Electricals.

I am facing a lot of problems with my RX's electrical systems from the day i have rebuild it (APRIL 2009).

Problem is that (let's take example of HORN). Sometimes it works very fine as it should but again randomly it feels like it is loosing battery power and after sometimes it starts working fine.Sometimes neytral dimms to that extent that baatery has no power left in it but after pressing brakes lever it behaves normally.

I can't able to sort out what the problem is.Battery has given for recharging for several times and every time guy there say's there is no fault .There r no wires touching horn.I have tried out everything but can't able to sort out what really the problem is.

Please help me out as i seriously want to use my horn on those crowded streets of Chandni Chowk .

I have zero idea about electricals, but giving detailed information regarding the works carried out during your re-build will help others to give an opinion.

Is it converted to 12V? If yes, then what were the components replaced? What was the wiring kit used? Which battery are you running it on?

        It's previously 12 v

There r no conversions carried ut throughout rebuid process. Except a new excide zero maintanance 12MF2.5L-C battery and indicators, front and back lights and a new horn is installed.

check your wiring inch by inch. may be due some weak insultion at some point.try WD40 or similar stuff in the handle bar switch, also check earthing

i guess u are on a 6v power supply but u are using the 12v battery. Try upgrading ur electicals ..it could solve the issue.. If you are on a 12v elextricals. then get it checked in by inch.

check the battery terminals and the wires for corrosion. it will look greenish and is powdery. If this is present, clean thoroughly with some alcohol and rub with a fine emery paper. once the battery is reconnected, apply vaseline/petroleum jelly on the terminals to coat them properly. Do not use grease. it is not the same as vaseline.

Also check the ignition switch/lock. the electrical contacts could be worn or corroded.
