  • [Help]: Bike not starting, at all!

    Hi all,

My bike is not starting at all. I started from home without any issue. however, after doing 2 kms, it stalled and was not getting start. I checked oil, petrol, spark plug all are ok. I had to drag the bike to my home, after reaching home, it started.

I know there is something wrong, but what and also how to remedy it.

My Bike is out of warranty and it is pulsar 150 UG2....

Pls help, it is my only mode of communication.

remove the spark plug, and remove the sparkplug cable from the cap. hold the cable against the head of the bike, and kick it ( maintain a small gap between end of cable and engine head ). see if a spark is being generated. If yes then issues are deeper, if not, then either your CDI is messed up, or ignition coils, but its a twin spark, so that should not be the issue.

did your bike overheat a lot when it stopped?? is the kick harder than normal?? you could be looking at a seized engine as well.

Or else is the kick too free than normal ( generally there is a certain amount of back pressure that the piston exerts during the compression stroke, that is felt in the kick ), then there is some compression loss which is not letting your bike start.

      - KTM Duke 200
      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

First, check if the fuel is flowing through the tubes properly; clean both the spark plugs & check if the sparks are adequate.

Also check if there're sufficient air flowing into the gas tank via the tank cap & check for any dust closing the cap cover thoroughly.

Bike does not overheat, kick is free. Also I forget to mention mine is Electric start as well. Point is after say 10-15 minutes bike did got start, is it bcos of overheating......
