  • [Help]: Semi fairing for Bullet Thunderbird

    Hi all,

I saw a TN registered Thunderbird on the gurgaon delhi expressway today while coming to work. The dude had a maroon colored semi fairing attached to the upper half of the bike.

It was something like the harley fairing, covering the upper portion of the headlight, and then wide enough to enclose the handlebars of the bike ( thunderbird handlebars! ).

Then there was a nice visor extending to nearly the riders helmet height... I dunno where he got it.. but it looked amazing, and something that i would love to put up on my Thunderbird...

TN rider, if you are a member help!!! otherwise other members HELP!!!! and if it could be possible for anyone to put up pics.

It looks like the retro RD fairing, only bigger.

    Thanks in advance.

@jd: Sorry for the late approval. I didn't notice the thread lying unchecked in the 'panel'. It was only after you PMed me that I noticed it, and approved it.

        Thanks,
        -Aryan.

have a bullet specific chota workshop near my house, will enquire there and let you know.. those guys always have wierd as well as awesome looking subtly moded bullets standing for repair..

going OT: my respect for enfield owners has grown in the past few weeks, there are quite a few of them on the road who are relaxed and sensible riders..
met one at a streetlight near qutab, the car behind him had sfotly bumped into his bullet from behind while at the red light. what followed was a calm yet impressionable glare at the driver that resulted in an instant apology instead of the usual cat fight..
few days later came across a red thunderbird rider who signalled me to overtake even in the mad office hour rush on the m.g road when he heard me honking away behind me.. small gesture, yet rare.. though i was actually honking at a reckless cyclist riding real close to me

Hey JD, I have seen a bike with such a fairing in Karol Bagh a few days back. Although it was not a Thunderbird but a Lightening 535, i guess both share the same dimensions.
Although the bike was colored green the black or slight grey fairing was looking really good in it. So i guess KB is the place to hunt, although i am not very sure about the quality of the thing as i didn't give much attention to it, but was standing near to me so i can say that it looked good, gave a retro feel...

Also very near to the place where i service my RX, there is a Bullets only workshop, will make an enquiry whenever i go there next and will let you know...

                        Good Luck

happy to see RE riders uphold the image. i personally find riders riding recklessly and getting into races on a RE dumb. Its a laid back bike, and it commands a certain respect and presents a certain image on the road.. present it.. dont abuse it... Ride fast, but dont race others. Cheers.

A big hug and a warm thank you to both of you guys.. if you could find some more information for me.. maybe if possible take a few pics.. then this is a mod i surely wanna do on my T-bird.

In so many years of ownership i have only done the following mods on the bike -

                          - Changed the front mud guard ( painted ) to that of the electra ( fully chromed).
                          - Installed leg guards, both front and rear
                          - Installed a original AutoPal Night crasher fog light on the right side of the front leg guard for use only during winter fog in Delhi

                          - had played around with a K&N and jetting on the bike, but that was for performance.

So practically there is nothing that i have done with the bike, since nothing really appealed to me so much like the regular stuff like alloys, seat covers, custom handlebar etc.

But this is really something very different and unique.. and i would like to try it out before it becomes too common too!!! hehe...

Thanks guys.. really!! please update me if you find any more info.. ill be more than happy to come around to KB.

                            hey jd
have you seen any bikes used by the firemen in delhi???
i've seen royal enfields with fairings like you've mentioned with the the delhi fire stations. Visit a fire station if you want to see again how it looks. I think they get it done from RE people.

^^ that is news.. but again i repeat, that this fairing was covering the drop handlebars of the T-bird.. not the straight handlebar of the normal civil service bullets..
