  • Help with Hero Honda Achiever

heyy guys need help for my bike over few problems.

    1. I own a hero honda achiever 150cc model of 2007 or the older one whichdoesnt has alloy wheels.

    my problems are as follows:-

    1. My first problem is that my bike skids a lot when i try to brake it from a speed near about 100kmph then it skids i have a mrf nylogrip zapper of size 3.00-18 as rear tyre of my bike. Will changing this to a tyre to mrf nylogrip zapper y of size 100/90-18 do me justice and i have a question that will using this tyre decrease my bikes pickup and topspeed.

    2. My second problem is that i need a good engine oil from which i can gt good engine performance and protection.suggest me some brands with prices.

    3. My third problem is that my bike vibrates a lot after 80 kmph is there any way to decrease the vibration of my bike.

    4. My fourth problem is that my bike is showing signs of engine oil leaking at the area where the clutch cable enters the cranckcase and the area where the gear change lever enters the cranckcase plase suggest some solutions for this.

    5. MY silencer when i accelarate my bike then there is some sound like gharr-gharr this sound didnt came earlier when i have shown it to mechanic then he told me that there are some small stones inside my muffler i told him to open it and turn it upside down but there was nothing coming out of it.

    6. i wanted to upgrade my bike by adding allloy wheels and painting the whole lower console black ie the engine etc.can u suggest me that should i buy the alloy rims from hero honda service center or from market place in market they are available at rs 3000 and in service center they are of rs 5000.which paint is used to paint the engine black a spray or some other paint.please tell me wheter it will last long or not what is the charge approximately of job.

    7. My front diskbrake is having black linings on the diskplate wht is the reason.

      firstly welcome to xbhp
      for
p1: better go for zapper c or better keep it in stock size and go for Michelin M45 3.00x18 without scarfing any thing
      p2: use gulf pride 4t , in that there r 2 available grades 20w40 ,10w30
      choose what ur bike requires
also with this u can eliminate some of vibrations(p3) to some extent

regarding others problems fellow xbhpians might be on their way......

For engine oil leak. try changing the oil seals of ur engine . This could solve the problem.
For vibration just check if engine bore rubbers are ther. They decrease the vibration slightly.
Just try tightening the silencer cap . mounting bolts and all other screws respected to silencer.

Engine is not spray painted it is powder coated mostly. After market alloys wheels should be of same weight and size and if you get the bill and warranty then they will do. The sound from the silencer could be from the loose bolts on the heat shield. The lining on the disc plate is due to the rubbing of shoe on the plate its normal.

Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

Depends on your BRAKING skills and Tyre condition too. Changing to a size greater than stock will increase top speed by a margin, but will kill the PICK-up.
                    2. My second problem is that i need a good engine oil from which i can gt good engine performance and protection.suggest me some brands with prices.
                    Semi synthetic oils:
                    Motul 5100 : 350-400rs
                    Valvoline 4T premium : 300rs
                    ... many more

                    Synthetic oils:

                    Motul 300V: 600-800rs
                    Veedol
                    Petronas
                    many more...

                    3. My third problem is that my bike vibrates a lot after 80 kmph is there any way to decrease the vibration of my bike.

Changing to a good engine oil will reduce vibrations considerably. Also get the engine mount bolts tightened.

                    4. My fourth problem is that my bike is showing signs of engine oil leaking at the area where the clutch cable enters the cranckcase and the area where the gear change lever enters the cranckcase plase suggest some solutions for this.

Probably, Oil seals have given-up. Change them.

                    5. Some part inside silencer might have gone out of its place. Also the Mounting bolts of Silencer needs to be checkned

If you want stylish ALLOYS then you have only one option of upgrading from outside SC.

                    7. My front diskbrake is having black linings on the diskplate wht is the reason.
Donot know the reason, but, all bikes have them.

Hi Abhinav,I too own a Achiever 2006 model.
1.With the stock tyres the bike was quite unstable and skiddy at high speed and turnning.I changed the stock front spoked wheel to alloys from Glamour (drum),tyre remained 2.75*18,Rs.2100.The rear wheel was replaced by X-treme's alloys,Rs.2800.Rear tyres were changed to Dunlop Monster 100/90*18.All this modifications were directly done. After the modification the bike is a lot more composed and sure footed at high speeds and turns. But marginal loss of pickup is felt.
                      2. Go for Motul 300v.
3.Change oil at every 2500 to 3000 km intervel.Check the handle bar mounting rubbers.
                      4. No idea.

Its a pretty long thread and not sure if you hold this byke now.
Was 100/90 R18 a direct fit, did it rub the chain guard and any other parts along with swing arm?
Which make bearings did you add.
