Mounting rubbers go hard. Time to change them.

^ not just that a number of factors come into play..

- the mounting nuts/bolts etc do loosen up slightly and need to be re-tightened from time to time.

- Chain and sprockets start cutting and bedding in.. that eventually also adds to a lot of footrest vibration

- Seals, bearings etc start wearing out.. You need to remember that in your single cylinder engine, its reciprocatory motion that gets converted to rotational.. so when the bearings and everything starts wearing out.. the vibes go up.

- Eventually the rings also wear out beyond a certain limit and that adds to the vibrations ( the piston is free to move laterally )...

+1 to JD666 and here's my 2 cents
1. Broken fairings
2. Loose fairings, gaps, no packing
3. Broken plastic parts ( esp, under the seat and towards the tail)
4. Mounting bolts loose. Etc.

Engine plays a major factor. On my first RX rebuild I saw the left web of the crank was from a RX135 and the right web was from a RX100. Junked it and bought a brand new crank. Vibes went down a lot, so did the weird wear pattern on the cylinder

WHOA!!! How could this Rx135 & Rx100 happen on a crankshaft?

Well it happened and it ruined 2 oversizes on my cylinder. Opened the engine anyways since i felt the con rod play was a bit too much. Later realised this and went for a new crank.

i'm also experience the same vibration in my 180 classic, i talked to a service centre to change the foundation rubber(mounting rubber) the mech said it cannot be change its fixed and cannot be replaced, and there's no way to reduce the vibration

is it true??

I dont think they are fixed. The Service manual of the P180 UG3 says it has to be changed every 20k km.

oh really, if its written in service manual, how can they say that it cannot be changed?

i talked wid the mechanic at that sc, and i think he said no just because he would have to remove engine and mount again after changing rubber? maybe he's aalsi or maybe he didnt want to work hard for those inexpensive rubbers

you're rite i talked with the head yesterday, he said it can be changed
