          Hi,

I dont know much about timing system........is it possible that the timing system changed automatically......coz this byke run with-out sound at the begaining, only after second service this issue came.....also as i post erlear that my timing chain tensioner is working properly.....chain is properly fit with the timing spoket........any advice

Guys pls help me with providing as much info as possible.....our local service center guys (mecanics) not at all educated in such field.......whenever we go with some issue, they try to experiment with it.......

here I upload the sound file which I recorded on my parking lot, engine to microphone distance is 3feet on left/gear changer side.........guys just chk the sound....u understand why I am going nuts.......

i heard that sound. Does it persist when you ride the bike as well? Thats one helluva sound that too from a smooth and silent Unicorn!
This seems timing chain problem coupled with some other issue. It could be a loose bolt or something inside the engine (but seems unlikely). Or probably next time u go to the Honda Service Centre ask those guys to show you a Unicorn with the same noise as yours. I am sure there must be other unicorns at the service centre. Ask them to start one of those and then u will be able to prove that the noise is abnormal. U need to get a bit agrressive sometimes

Open timing chain cover and then tell the mechanic either to test by replacing it or tightening it.
In worst case, 'CRANK' maybe gone.

Hey tell me one thing.. Did u record that sound keeping your cell or whatever recording device very close to engine??

I somehow feel its the tappet noise itself. IF it is the cam chain (timing chain) noise then u wont get that tapping noise. My cam chain is weak from past 25k kms and its not an issue apart from that noise.

If its the tappet noise, tell the showroom guys to set the tappet once and further if that noise appears simply ignore it. Uni becomes smoother with bit of age.

I would say ignore the sound for couple more hundred kms.

                    Hi,

Its recorded from 3feet apart from the engine in an underground parking lot......underground parking lots r usually silent then ny other places......so i think the sound get more gain by the concreat reflection.....

you know I get this sound even on the road.....on a traffic signal with helmet on my head waiting on gear neutral position for the green signal........just borring thak thak thak thak thak......

well to follow ur advice....will chk the tapet settings again......

GUYS WOULD U PLS ADVICE ME ON ENGINE OIL........IN BANGLADESH NO HONDA LUBE AVAILABLE, EVEN ON HONDA SERVICE CENTER.........ONLY CASTROL, CALTEX, HPX, MOBIL, R AVAILBLE FOR MOTORCYCLE........I RECENTLY USE CASTROL ACTIVE 4T 20W40.

                    Regards.

Thinking back it could be tappet noise but tappet noise persists while riding too. But i think u shud ask the service centre guys to check it anyways.
Castrol power 1 or castrol active shud be fine for engine oil.

Probably he is not be able to hear tappet noise while riding with helmet.

I don't recommend Castrol Power 1, the gears get harder with it. Power 1 Racing is good thou but its fully synthetic.
